This stuff is creative and better then some of the shit that we have right now, and even though the only downside is that the quality is some what poor, that just proves that everything gets outdated.
I don't know if you know this already, but this song is featured in a movie called "Death Ship" from 1980... it's a "cult" horror movie.
Anyway, the girls that come out in groups of three are gorgeous... that's my favourite part of the ong. I'd love to do the Charleston or whatever with them! :-)
Seems like a clip of this also appeared in MASTERPIECE THEATER's "ALL FOR LOVE SERIES" years ago, an episode entitled AND NOW FOR A LITTLE SINGING & DANCING, or something like that. Very 1930s bouncy & cute!
P.S. I just bought a VHS PAL-format copy of the 1936 film in which this appears (Everything Is Rhythm) via EBAY-UK. All the production numbers and other songs are likewise good. I did have it locally converted to US format to watch on American (non PAL) TV. Star Harry Roy reminds me a bit of Eddie Cantor about the same time period.
Hi, I like your video and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my vid clip of some rare jazz musicians and dance band Leaders cigarette cards, issued in 1936. They include Harry Roy, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and many more.
Thumbs up if you came here after seeing Death Ship.

I remember this from the "haunted projector" sequence in Death Ship, but always wondered what the rest of the number was like. Thanks for posting.
