TO speak only of the good while surrounded by bad is to ignore a large part of peoples day to day reality. Seek the Ites, whilst you must live out babylon surroundings. Dancehall is fill with Real bad man who have no respect for a god loving man alone. So sometimes you must play defense with an aggressive Offense. Dread locks strike fear in weak heart, and keep that weak heart at bay, less they feel to take advantage. When a badness come You must defend with more then tongues.
I'll always listen to Sizzla's tunes. As for his controversial outlook, in my opinion that's neither here nor there in terms of his ability to bang out a good song. We have a choice - we don't have to listen. I will, however say that at least he's honest enough to express his own opinions; which is more than I can say for X Factor........
@DaRealDjJMaC so it's ok to do wrong while at the same time holding certain aspects of righteousness? i thot doin wrong was doin wrong? then i am lucky as hell cuz i all i do is rap about how thankful i am n rob bichez at nite!!! one day i will be pure tho.
@ Illplayguitar4u::I agree with you on the contradiction, but ghetto youth life's filled with contradiction speaking from experience, u hustle you do wrong but at the same time you uphold certain aspects of righteousness..Sizzla embodies dat, he sings on all the aspects of ghetto life, also he is mostly black concious. selah.
yea, i parted company with him cuz he makes songs like this that are upful and righteous then in the same record you find songs where all he talks about is "fuck you, fuck him, fuck her, kill him, shoot them, get rich this, get bitches that." and then has the nerve to speak the name of the Most High in the same song. which in my bible, The Holy Bible, they call BLASPHEMOUS. its completely contradictory of him to do so, but wutever hes famous rite? and as long as the riddim is yard rite?
@illplayguitar4u Well I say this, Sizzla ALWAYS djed with abrasive lyrics. The difference is that they were down played as he was moving more consciously. When I observed a difference was when he had the rups up with King Fish and the war in August town. Pretty much I'm going to assume he had to display the "strong" side to him as well. Not wanting to be taken for a walk over. No one man is 1 dimensional, & you can't fight gun war (Jamiacan) with bible leaf. He is a legend.
big up

We must overstand what a man sees & feels reflects in what they do.
It is hard to live a righteous life & try to teach tha yout right.
You must sometimes share what you see to give light on
wrongs that are being done.
MI overstand yuh SIZZLA
