Actually, he's right. These are GE CF6 engines, and some models of the 747 were equipped with them. I don't recall these engines being offered on the A340 though.

what a wonderful and odd design...it really does look like a beluga whale or some one with a huge skull..i wonder how much slower it is than say a 767 aerodynamically? but i guess since its made for cargo it doesnt have to get there fast..im going to look for a model version of this plane..ive got a lockead sr 71 blackbird that ive not built up yet and ive always loved planes and found it artically beautiful to see them land and take off or in the air above the earth.
