@lealadrianar: Thank you! Yes, it is all aluminum. I used a combination of three buffing compounds and a 8" (200mm} power buffer, and yes even a Dremel for some spots. Each individual part was polished a total of four times, progressing through each bar of buffing compound and finally to hand polishing with creme.

This worrys me!, i have a brand new sc 400 im building in a yak. Do you know why this happens? or is it a manufacturing flaw? Looks fantastic now you polished it, great job!
@dreamsfgh: It was a manufacturing error I believe. Too much heat treat hardening of the linkpins. I also think it was probably just a one time batch of pins that were mis-treated, which only affected a certain number of engines manufactured 2006 and prior. Thanks for the compliment on my polished engine. :)
