  • 2:55 NFC already exists on mobile phones

  • I think they need to redo this with a bit more Google.

  • The future is bright :D

  • It seems like A lot of people have smartphones now a days and the older generations seem to ask the younger generations how to control their simple feature phones. Asking for an IPhone without knowing how to use a simple(feature) phone would be a challenge don't you think?

  • @burnbleu True, but the touchscreen was only widely accepted when the ipod touch was introduced wich led to the acceptance of touchscreen controlled smartphones wich then started the whole touchscreen era. The mobile phone era didn't start with the first portable phone but started when every class and agegroup was able to aquire and use a portable phone. What I'm trying to say is that an era does'nt have to start with the first device but starts with the public's acceptance

  • IS the NY Times REALLY gna cut paper in 2016?

  • The reason I dislike it is due to the fact were moving further away form human interaction, although we can connect with one another wirelessly, does not mean however that were truly connecting, now does it!

  • @newscruzer1

It is not technology that is moving people away from physical interaction it is out life styles. In other words working to long and only getting 2 to 3 hours a day with our families.

No wonder people are using the technology how the hell are you suppose to meet people when most people spend about 11 hours a day making ends meat.

  • In 2021 Skynet takes control over the Internet and destroys humanity.

  • LMAO plastic ePaper readers for 1$ in ny times dreams

  • This is a madness?????? WTF

  • We are headed toward something bad.

  • @VanAngelic

    you are clearly wrong.

We are heading for something truly great.

What if we are both wrong and right at the same time.

  • this is so wrong he said 2011 gps is introduce to phones

  • @Undertakeryourpaying in the US... not japan

  • really scary..

it seem to be very near...

But I believe LTE will come earlier than 2013...

  • I would hate to see a world were technology runs everything.

It takes the fun out of life.

  • scary....

  • good one, but exageration!, so far, we can find the real innovation device or services start from 2000 is amzone and iphone, they can be innovation base on simple reason: price and function.

  • I look forward to the e-papers

  • Phone was invented in italy by Meucci. if who say Bell go get some books!

  • "The introduction of the iPhone the start of the touch device era"

Aaaargh!! We were using touchscreen pda phones before the iPhone was a dream in Steve Jobs' head!

  • thats right i used those when i was like 5 (now 15)

  • @burnblue Yes but normal touch screens werent good enough for mobile devices, which was why when the iPhone introduced multi-touch that didnt need a stylus, everyone followed apple. People know the iphone wasnt the first touch screen device, everyone knows of nintendo ds and the newton etc.

  • @totallysickawesome You're mixed up.

    1. The DS came out after the iPhone

    2. "Everyone" didn't know about the Newton and devices like it, but those aren't what I'm talking about either (The newton is old-school, no color, more like a Palm Pilot)

    3. My phone and phones like it did not require a stylus, though you could use one if you want to (unlike the iPhone). Or a fingernail. Or a glove. Or a stick.

    4. Multi-touch only refers to multiple simultaneous touch inputs, not "no stylus needed"

  • @burnblue haha you're the one mixed up.

    1. The DS came out 3 years before the iPhone...wtf? (2004)

    2. Obviously not everyone, but a lot of people, i've seen them on tv shows etc. The release of the newton was in 1987, and many other devices ran its OS, i don't many other touch devices that existed before this.

    3. Phones that can sense any sort of imput, cannot support multi-touch (from experience). Why the hell would you usee ur fingernail or a stik. My ipod can sense throuhg gloves.

    4. i no

  • @burnblue can i ask you, do you only refer on stable divices or mobiles divices?

  • @yagami41 Mobile devices. Note my use of the word "phones"

  • @burnblue I think it would of been better if he said start of the Multi Touch device era. That would of made more sense :/

  • @burnblue yeah, but they were useless

  • @burnblue

touchscreen PDA's were only used by a very small majority of the population.

To day nearly everybody has used touch screens.

The technology started to mature when apple used it.

There will be other companies that produce devices that will use mature technology and everybody will believe that they developed it the technology behind it.

  • Some aspects are missing I think, like the possibility to integrate mobilite future and Artificial Intelligence (AI): My vision of Future Mobile development is integration with AI making a world where people try to make everything better using robots to automate "everything". At the end we end up with a world where cars are driving around communicating wiht each other via M2M and robots have taken over all jobs. What people are doing? We are back into the trees in the forest eating bananas!

  • yes, ofcourse we are automating stuff, duh.... Dosen't mean we won't have jobs... the jobs will just be different...

  • thts fkin' dwn mthfka

  • great video very informative

  • 2017, spooky. News construct a global narrative more than ever.

  • Very good presentation ! The most important thing remains that in the future the newspapers will be in the electronic format and of course not only on pc's but more and more on the mobile media. It's an interesting point how the information will be relevant for every user because a catalog of news or the hard titles it's not enough in this digital era.
