I have a dillemma. I'm just getting into the NBA seriously. Russell Westbrook is prolly my favorite player, but i dunno if i wanna become a thunder fan cause they are like a top team in the league. Should I run the risk of seeming like a bandwagoner
Mate, you do what you want to do. I followed the leage for 4 1/2 years watching every team and loving the game before i decided i wanted to support the thunder. I support them because they play great entertaining basketball and i love the logo. Even if durant and westbrook were traded tomorrow (i would have a fit if they were) i would still support the thunder. You may want to think about the twolves, they are going to be good, but you do what you want!
if Kevin Durant doesnt win the MVP it will be coz Westbrook is so awesome... To say the least Westbrook steals Durants thunder..... Deul MVP? they both deseve it!

Westbrook is an SG in a PG's body. Too much of a ballhog. D-Rose has already developed the great instincts, pass, and vision that a true PG has. Westbrook, on top of developing that, needs to develop a decent outside shot to even be a threat from the perimeter. He doesn't mesh too well with KD either.
@SonicXisnow2009 well duh it helps that you have someone that happens to be a former assistant coach of doc rivers. the bulls have better offensive plays then okc does. rose can pass the ball with ease because his teammates will ALWAYS be on the move especially rip. westbrooks' teammates on the other hand pretty much don't move around at all including durant. the only time he moves is when they run a play. if the play fails (which it does most of the time) durant just stops moving altogether.

It means they're the most valuable player in terms of wins attributed for their team while maintaining personal accolades and achievements. Steve Nash won back to back MVPs and I can tell you right now, he was never at any point the best player in the league. Dirk won an MVP years back, he wasn't the best player in the league at the time either. With that said, I still don't think Russell is better than Derrick.

I would debate that there speed is pretty close, but no way you could confidently say rose isnt as fast as westbrook. And yeah, beleive it or not, MVP does mean something.

@davidryu11 there was about 3 games where durant had more turnovers than westbrook. so yeah durant doesn't have any ball handle OR ball security either. garnett,stephen jackson, artest, all of those guys play with those same emotions. wasn't westbrook the one that prevented the lakers from sweeping them 2 years ago while artest was busy making durant his bitch. hell durant got shut down most of the time in both of okc's playoff runs

@suckacowboys it becomes a problem when you can't pass out of double teams.most small forwards are also playmakers not just scorers.he's probably the easiest small forward to shut down because he doesn't do anything else other than scoring. when he has physical defenders on him, he doesn't shoot well at all. that's when he has to find other ways of helping his team. whether it be rebound more, get others involved or do better on defense

@flip92 sucks on defense? he can't really play defense likes he wants to because he has to save his energy for the offensive end. he and durant are the ONLY 2 players in their starting lineup that can give you offense. ibaka isn't there yet. durant struggles to get open most of the time and REALLY struggles to score when his jumpshots aren't falling

@flip92 harden yeah but he can also disappear in games as well. perkins has NEVER been a scoring threat even with boston. why do you think he's not out on the floor late in games. he's a liability on offense and worse he's not a good free throw shooter. ibaka can score a little but he ain't at the point where's he's actually a threat on offense yet. he can't score in the post and neither can perkins. ibaka has a jumper but he tends to be hesistant about taking it when he clearly has a look.
