  • Perfect. The title was hers that year, obviously.

  • Kim Yu Na could learn a lot from this lady

  • The one person who disliked this must've missed the "like" button.

  • 不知道這首歌曲的意思~ 不過陳露的舞姿令我想起隨風搖擺的楊柳~

    真美!

  • I wish Chen would have won this Worlds. (and Kwan in '97) This and the lp of '96 are my favorite programs by Chen. Bezic is a far better choreographer than a commentator.

  • this would have been first place if it didnt have so much MSG in it.

  • LOL =P

  • A lesson in artistry, elegance but also in excellent jumping ability. this was the complete package, and the overall ethereal effect -- you could have heard a pin drop -- not again matched until Kwan's 1998 SP (Nationals and Olympics) and Arakawa's Olympic LP.

  • @Aldobrandini I think Lu Chen deserved to win the LP but Kwan was tops in the SP at this Championship. Kwan's Spiral Sequence and solo Triple jump were both better and choreographically I'd actually put her program a little bit ahead as well. Lu Chen actually kinda slipped off her toepick on that Triple Toeloop and barely got any height, but she was able to save it and eek out the rotation. Still an excellent performance of course, both women were astounding at 1996 Worlds, but details matter!

  • @Aldobrandini I wouldn't put anything Arakawa did in that category.

  • really is spring breeze on the ice

  • I have to agree....she should have won in 96. Her LP was so brilliant that I cry ever time I watch it.... a true masterpiece.

  • straight I mean..oh my.

  • Not only is Chen Lu's triple Lutz,as Dick Button says,"elegant and beautiful and light and effortless", but with that long, strait, deep back outside edge it is correct technique as well.

    No "flutzing" around.

  • The marks were too low. I was fine with Kwan winning the short but these marks are too low, should be much closer to Michelle in the short. 4 judges even had an immature Irina over her.

  • very beautiful, ethereal

  • this is one of my favorite performance...beautiful moves and music....very calm...

  • Toller is right, what kept this performance behind Kwan was the costume. An awful color choice.

  • That's because of culture difference. The color is actually from Chinese traditional painting. The color is actually a perfect match to the music. To a Chinese, like me, the music and the costume are really beautiful and beyond.

  • No, it' because she two footed the triple toe.

  • Dick Button's greatest call. He summed it up perfectly..."Elegant and beautiful and light and effortless"

  • just beautiful

  • The two programs of Lu Chen's for the 95-96 season were legendary and pieces of art and culture. I would have given Kwan the SP (but by the very slightest) and Chen winning the LP, thus winning the whole World title.

  • 这是陈露最经典的短节目!^_^

  • She's just so lovely and elegant - what a great year for the World Championships!

  • The song she sakted to is the signature of Taiwan.

  • you'r aweful person

  • @1814Brandan You know neither beauty nor artistry.

  • A lovely, elegant performance. Lu Chen always integrated distinctly Asian music to moves that fit it perfectly.

  • agreed. All I can say to that is "wow"

  • This is stunning, shes so refined and in control - the edge quality is flawless.

  • Well, I have been accused of being racist because I am not a Kwanatic..Lu Chen is by far the most graceful and elegant skater I have seen to date..she should have won Gold! This performance was absolute perfection IMO. She is a beautiful woman as well.

  • @ithinkformyself I agree I love Kwan and know her well but this short program for me was the best short program that any female has ever put together the music the dress the graceful style it was all there Kwans short should have not been marked higher than Lu Lu's nor should Michelle's long program been in front of Lu Chen this was 1st rate and the best among the best of all time!

  • @ithinkformyself well said

  • @ithinkformyself Well said...I so agree!

  • Lu Chen is a great skater it is so sad that she could not stay healthy to compete more in the sport of figure skating

  • Just wonderful! She is "the" quintessential bel canto skater.

  • Thank you so much for posting. I dream of watching this program again ever since 96.

  • good music and great dancer!
