Another one that sees me get the old hanky out sharpish. Whoever this bird singing is, she sounds like the lady I saw the first couple of times and not the poor imitation of more recent outings. I could be wrong though.

What a mental show Alegria is - with or without being off one's face. I prefer the traditional Albert Hall accompaniment myself, but they're hard to get hold of now I'm not that young no more.

"Querer" means "To want", but in this song is used liked "To love". In Spanish, we say "Te quiero", from the verb "Querer" (To want), and "Te amo", from "Amar" (To Love) and it means the same (but "Amar" is more... formal)

Cirque du Soleil's Alegria is in Italian and Alegria among with much of the other lyrics is the same in both Italian and Spanish (LIke the title- Alegria means extreme joyfulness or happiness in both languages)

Both ways are actually correct, while "querer" is more literally pointing to "want" people have come to use it as love also, the reason of this I don't know.
