Not many people know the countless number of ways this movie can be viewed, as the movie was intented to be. This movie is not in an way "Bible Bashing", as even said by the producers themselves. It can be taken in the way of a Christian, or viewed as some people as a control mechanism. Both are two ways this movie can be perceived, out of the many ways it can be.

@oxxor77 Sorry. The Road was a horrific movie that dragged on and on and on and didn't seem to ever want to end. You didn't get any religious message from the Road...but then again you didn't get any message at all since the plot sucked so badly. One of the worst movies I've seen in a very very long time. But this is what makes movies so great. What one person hates, another loves. Even the world's worst movies have their fans.

I love when people make "review" videos and assume they speak for the masses as if they are Roger Ebert. This "review" is an opinion and an opinion not shared by most. It would have done well to search this movie on Yahoo Movies where he would have found a B+ rating by users and a B- review by critics.  Apparently many more like it than didn't. As has been stated by others the movie is about the book...NOT Eli...and the ending is completely consistent with the book its about. Pointless review

@COArsenal as pointless as you may think, this is a good review. We really care nothing about Eli. He's a nobody who can fight and that's all. He has no depth, no personality, no nothing. And all the mystery upon the book is overexagerated, as if the Bible would have all that power. It has never had such overwhelming power over mankind, unless you count the power to spurr wars along history: the Cruzades come to mind, and all the fights on the east also. Overall its a poor movie. really.

Wow, way to say "we don't care about the characters in the movie." Would that you be you and your best friend? What do you mean Denzel's character lacked depth? And you can't serious to say Carnagie isn't that threatening of a character. He was feared by almost everyone in the movie except for Eli. It's only dull if you fail to follow the plot of the movie throughout its duration. I think you watched it just to look for flaws.

It doesn't matter if you have some kind of backstory of him from the Bible. To a movie audience, what is shown on screen is all that matters.

This movie doesn't have to appeal to the vast majority of viewers (Those who don't read the bible) simply to be good. You need to see the movie for yourself. The character of Eli in the movie is not reminiscent of Elijah. You find out towards the end of the movie that he had a certain ailment, which ended up pissing off the man who was eager to take his Bible from him.

For those that have seen it... She gets all that stuff on, looks all badazz.. tucks in the blade.. and yet you think, when the 'ell did she learn to fight so that she could make this trekk back home?
