  • I pity the poor fool who get this song stuck in his head.

  • @Aeschylus I have had it stuck in my head since Saturday morning, sometime in late 1987

  • I like the llama at the end.

  • I was cooking turkey bacon this morning when I thought - "these things will turn into crispy critters"- then the jingle started playing in my head and here I am.

  • Isn't that the kid from Small Wonder?

  • I've been looking for this commercial for AGES but couldn't remember anything about it, and I finally stumble onto it accidentally without even trying!!!

  • INDUBITABLY!

  • lol...jews

  • IIIIIIIIN~DUBITABLY!!!! (thank you for posting this nostalgic commercial)

  • The nostalgia! It burns!

  • I remember seeing this when I was a kid and really wanting to try it. But I don't remember if I ever did... : [

They probably should've picked a different name, though, since a "crispy critter" sounds like some unfortunate deep fried animal.

  • @wakebreakers it's actually the term for a charred corpse used by police and firemen lol

  • @wakebreakers You weren't missing much. I was in the same boat as a kid. I got to try it one time, but I dare not try it again. It was terrible. If I'd compare it to Puffed Wheat, I think Puffed Wheat would win out against that stuff. And that's saying something :P.

  • is that gene wood of classic game show announcing fame doing the voiceover at the end?

  • In-dubilllyy. He really says it with conviction. Well done.

  • who is john vasquez?

  • Excuse me, isn't a crispy critter a person who has suffered a severe burn?

  • It was those nasty, tasteless animal crackers made into a cereal. The stuff was disgusting!

  • Part of a baaaaalanced breakfast. Indoubetdly.

  • that shit was mad nasty

  • @tsleazy4000 I didn't like this cereal. Is this why they don't sell it anymore?

  • @kangaroo371 yes, it's all your fault

  • Today's fun fact: "Crispy critter" is military slang for a burnt corpse. Enjoy your breakfast!

  • even as a little kid i thought this commercial was retarded

  • In case you guys didn't know, Crispy and his pals were all gunned downed by Ted Nuggent.

  • I kinda wonder how the puppets were moving.

  • Yeah,it really sucked. My parents bought it because it was always cheap

  • @Angel4046 It was worse than cardboard.

  • Please bring it back!!!!!

  • Grandpa used to carry us around on his back singing this song! WOOW!!!

  • Worst fucking cereal ever.

  • @suspekt29 LOL! I can tell just by looking it must have sucked.

  • They weren't kidding. That shit was LOW on sugar.

  • brings back childhood memmories love this cereal

  • I wanted to try these so bad when I was a kid! Never got to :(

  • this isnt the entire commercial. it used to say "my name is crispy critters, how do u do? post crispy critters is entirely new."

  • Haha...I always remembered a funny-looking yellow thing saying, "Indubitably," and I remembered there had been a book about him and his friends (I read it in a dentist's office as a kid). I didn't know he was just the spokespuppet for a short-lived cereal.

  • Hi Mikey :L

  • There alive!!!!OMFG THERE EATING ME!!!!

  • Induablittyslaglgkjagljatwtgsgsg delious

  • Creepy.

  • Ah-cha-cha-cha!

  • do they even make commercials like this anymore?

  • Indubitably.

  • Does anyone notice that the boy has the same voice as the camel?

  • 0:29 "Induvoovee"

  • This cereal was re-issued by Post in 1987after being unsuccessfully tested during the 1960s. This second attempt to popularize this cereal was also unsuccessful and was discontinued shorty thereafter.

  • @davidjl1234 you know your cereal

  • @davidjl1234 you know your cereal

  • yeah I remember it tasted like you were eating animal crackers with milk..lol

  • lol the kids in this commercial look dumb

  • I so loved this cereal. Wish they would bring it back. I still have the books and my kiddo reads them.

  • hell yeah... i typed "indubitably" and this is the first thing that came up. this shit is WAYYY older than I am. people then were just plain smarter.

  • I remember having this cereal. I've always wondered what the heck that big puppet critter they had on the commercial was.

  • indubitable is a cool word.

  • Indubitably :P

  • my mom let me eat this because there wasn't a lot of sugar in it. good memories watching that commercial.

  • Post Crispy Critters was popular in the 60's too! I loved them as a kid! I think the song went.."The only type of cereal that comes in the shape of animals"!

Jimmy Durante's character...Hot, cha, cha, cha! Did you ever have the feeling that you wanted to go? Was Durante's song (I think).

  • Does everyone have to say something Jhonen?

  • LOL all the comments are about Jhonen!

    This feels right. :D

  • oh, Jhonen, you walking insane asylum... you make me smile...and vomit occasionally... ^__^

  • I'm here for Jhonen aswell

  • I love how we're all here for jhonen lol.

  • Oh, Jhonen. Never change.

  • God bless you, Jhonen Vasquez.

  • I used to wonder what Jhonen Vasquez does on his spare time.

    I do not any longer.

  • indubitably! :D

  • Jhonen...why D:

  • Thank you, JV, for another reason to have a go at suicide.

  • Wow. You know, I'd only just recently succeeded in erasing most of this commercial's residue from my brain following my last exposure. Thanks a lot, Jhonen. Thanks a LOT.

  • creepy

  • that singer guy is

    WAYYYYYYYYY off.

  • that poor kid..

trying to eat his cereal but instead he gets these weird puppet animal-cracker things taunting him with their immense vocabulary XD

  • I remember this never ate it before. My pop would allways buy the generic brand NO FRILLS. AH CHA CHA CHA CHAAA!!!!

  • My sibs and I usually only got generic cereals as well. We did get Crispy Critters once. Got the book too.

    Indubitably.

  • lol, my parents were the same way! "Why do you need Crispy Critters for? Crunchy Creatures is the same stuff for heaven's sake!" Ugh...childhood

  • hahaha, that kid sounded like he sneezed at 14:00,i cant believe they wer expecting those kid's to be able to say indubitably! wtf

  • is that joey lawrence?

  • WTF was up with that weird spaz attack at :13?

  • The toys in cereal were cool and you could use them over and over nowadays crap.

  • ya I think Clark W. Grizwald invented that crap, before they took off to wally world!

  • this ceareal was disgusting, maybe because of the LOW sugar the commercials boasted but I was sold anyways, tried it and never had it again...I went to granola which hurt my mouth LESS LMAO!

  • I remember this commercial... It was on an old VHS we had.

  • indubitably, quite, here here, and cheerio good gent!

  • use to eat it

  • indubitably

  • This cereal had me sold so I begged my parents for weeks to buy it. It was god awful!

  • WTF is that kid doing

  • The thing singing it... molester.

I remember this cereal would tear up your mouth when you ate it... not good.

  • nothing sounds more gross than a bowl full of animal crackers for breakfast.

  • lol I think of this commercial every time I her the word indubitably. Wow I feel really old now.

  • LMAO

  • LMFAO. WTH WAS THAT.

    Indubitably!

  • WHAT KIND OF CREAL IS THAT?

  • im going to write a letter to POST that reads, Bring back the Critters or else.

  • Awesome!!!! I LOVED this cereal! I wish they would bring it back. I am relieved taht I found this as people did not believe it existed and this song

  • I was born in 1987 and my mum named me Kristen but my nickname was crispy critter and so she would sing this song to me and it would annoy me so much when she got the with lot's of crunch part I would always yell back "I DON"T HAVE CRUNCH!"

  • no.

  • I used to love this cereal. Funny how my memories of this cereal is linked to the show Zoobilee Zoo. I would watch that show in the mornings and chow down on my bowl of Crispy Critters. Good times. Indubitably!

  • that's amazing!!!!! i love the commercials from the 80's!!

  • I used to have the book where all the animals were in the forest and they made a friend named Acorn, I don't know what happened to it. I still have the book called "The Birthday Band." I don't remember the cereal, though...I think it came out before I was born.

  • inotdubitably

  • caaaaaaaaaaarunch

  • Thank you for posting. Ive been telling people for years there was this commericial. Thanks to you and youtube, I have proof.

  • Aw man, I totally had that Crispy Critter book back in the day. The cereal was really good.

  • haha.! I lovee this commercial.! =D

  • I loved that cereal, I wish I could get ahold of some just to see if they still taste as good as I remember ( they probably don't LOL!) for some reason, no one I know remembers this existed except me. I remember being a little kid with my mom at the grocery store and she'd say, "pick a cereal." I would get that every time, until it suddenly disappeared. that was the moment when I started picking cereals for the prizes inside. haha!

  • lots of kids nowadays know Jimmy Durante from the first Frosty the Snoman cartoon. He was the narrator... been dead for decades, but he lives on because he did some silly voiceover job in a cartoon. If you want to be famous forever, do cartoon voiceover (as yourself, of course!)

  • indubitably

  • jesus

  • LMAO I love this commercial so much.

  • You would ask for Cookie Crisp,

    you would get Crispy Critters.

    ...gee, thanks mom!

  • LMAO...that is as real as it gets

  • what is the kid trying to say at 0:14? whatever it is wasn't a word...

and why does the strange hallucination at 0:20 go "acha-cha chah"

  • Haha!! I guess that things says it because he's supposed to be like Jimmy Durante with the big nose and odd way of talking - and Jimmy Durante was known for saying "Ah cha cha cha."

  • The kid was saying "DELICIOUS!"

  • this commercial is fucking insane.... how could this possibly have made it to air?

  • daymnit i hated this cereal.. my mom would make my dad buy this shit.. i wanted mario!!!

  • I remembered this as a show, not a commercial. It was my favorite show at the time.

Tried to recreate this with animal crackers. Not worth the $1.50.

  • oh my god.

  • I hear the boxes had more nutritional value than the contents. More fibre etc.

  • sounds like the kid sneezes trying to say it lol.

  • Why do people keep trying to say that this cereal was gross?

This was one of my best memories from early childhood!

I wish I could eat this stuff again!

  • Holy crap! I remember this!

  • My parents were hippies, and we weren't allowed to have any cereal brands you would recognize. I am assuming the crap we had to eat was much worse than this. Hippy-brand wheat flakes (no sugar added!), sugar-free oatmeal, and that's just the stuff I will admit to having eaten.

  • LOL.... ever have KABOOM cereal or King Vitamin? LOL

  • Can somebody help a nearly-50-year-old guy here? I remember how horrible this stuff tasted when it came out in the 80s, but wasn't it tastier in the 1960s, almost exactly like Alpha-Bits? I honestly don't remember....(no one would go for "low sugar" cereals on the 60s)

  • This ceral was GREAT I loved it when i was a kid !

  • Blandest cereal ever. Breakfast is ruined.

  • Jimmy Durante of "Make Someone Happy" fame voiced in this ad. His appeared in the 1993 movie Sleepless In Seattle and the song was in the soundtrack.

  • Crispy is clearly based on Durante. However, it also seems obvious he did not provide the actual voice, partly because he'd died a few years before this ad even came out.

  • This cereal was pretty gross. I think that wet Styrofoam would have tasted better. Fortunately, it no longer makes an appearance in the cereal aisle.

  • I had a Crispy Critters book when I was little! I almost forgot about these. :)

  • I had this cereal ONCE, when I was a kid, visiting Michigan with family, as we couldn't buy it back home in Canada. To this day, I only have two words to describe it: Fucking disgusting! I can still taste it. *shudder*

  • this was my favorite cereal when i was a kid...oh that brings back memories!

  • OMgshh1

  • Oh god the animals are talking to me again... where are my meds...

  • i hate this hahahah

  • indubidy?!

  • BEST VIDEO EVER!!! Wow! I wish I was there for the '80s!

    Indubitably!

  • indubitably!

  • ahh cha cha cha.

  • i miss the 80s
