I love the pipes but my family won't let me learn because "they're to loud for a quiet Southern California neighborhood."

@MrChrisrmenter - tell them not to worry, you start with what's called a practice chanter, which is very quiet. Get good instruction (since you're in Southern Cal, talk to someone at L.A. Scots Pipe Band). By the time you're on the real "full" pipes, your neighbors will be into it. Unless of course, they're all jerks...in which case, screw' em!

Just a quick correction on the commentary (I realize that you didn't do the commentary tomtscotland)- Boghall's Air wasn't Martin Bennet's "Cuillen"- it was a pipe band arrangement of Burns' "Now Westlin' Winds" based on the Dick Gaughan version.

SFU starts their medley with Cosmos cascade, which is very hard to find in sheet music, so youre better off getting it by ear.

I am not Scottish, but oh, how I love the pipes.  My Daddy, who passed away May of last year, passed on his love of them to me. Beautiful video, would give you fifty stars if I could! Long may the pipes skirl!
