@decorActive7 Cocaine is actually a great drug. I've only done it a few times, but it definitely makes your mind tick differently (Like said herbs, or fungus). I think all drugs are good, in a sense. They inspire creativity, and help break away from the norm ((mediocrity) Which is what our world is praising at the moment). I wouldn't say cocaine is a drug you do daily, or even monthly. But to experiment is being human, test some shit out, and use moderation. I really enjoy this song though.peace
@Pr3lude9 I am not sure if you are a musician or not, but have you ever tried writing music while on something? Anything at all. It's terribly difficult and really hinders your ability to function properly when it comes to creating. Drugs are more of an introspective, absorptive experience. (Also, cocaine for me was a terribly underwhelming experience. I only tried it once, but I just felt uncomfortable and jittery, as though I had just had an energy drink or something.)
@ABigToeforYou I play for my own enjoyment. Some people write diaries, some people play instruments (that's the way I see it at least). I see where you're coming from, drugs effect everyone differently. I have only tried cocaine a handful of times, it wasn't the most awesome thing ever, but it wasn't terrible. I can see how people are addicted to it. Drugs take different effects, on different folks. I wouldn't recommend cocaine to anyone now that people are cutting it with flesh eating agents.

@SwanSong2156 i meant to direct this to yuo but i set on general but i smoke weed and drink on a daily basis i do coke E and shrooms once in a while like a month or two that aint bad if you keep it that but anything you abuse will fuck you up like alcohol is harder than coke and in florida coke is about 40 a gram but what i suggest is you do it in a party so you dont get to fucked up with it and really get addicted

Drugs have no place in the mainstream. Whether a person uses them or not is their choice, and shouldn't be glamourised by someone who's put in a position of influence. Neil's song were great with or without drugs, and the music was far stronger for having his friends around him... when drugs took those friends, it was his music about that loss which was so deep and personal.

@janisj1969 Okay japbikes does make a valid point though.While I do agree with you that drugs played an influencial role for what artists had to say at the time, it did not make them better musicians. They had real talent, their sounds and lyrics spoke to society genuinely. I think Neil himself would agree, 'Needle and the Damage Done' puts it much better then I. So its not that the industry lacks coke heads and junkies, its that more emphasis is put on looks,brands,money.Other then real talent.

The reason some good music as you say comes from drugs, is not the drug high it is the pain that comes from a fake substance that promises good and steals from you once you have bought into the lie that drugs are not dangerous. I know from experience and I do not feel any sort of pride in saying that. I was a slave to the power of the drug and it took most of my young years and chewed them up and spit them out. why is it that people judge "drugs"??? what would they be called if that label had not been given to them? Some of the best music was composed by people under the influence..... kurt cobain? some of the rawest emotion filled music I have ever heard. Sure beethoven and the rest made great music (for the era they were in) But like us, music evolves and needs different things for inspiration.
