  • I liked the one with the hot brunette and also the one with the hit man. Sex and violence! LOL

  • @SetPhasersOnTickle The 'hot brunette' was almost one of my guests, but her tour schedule got bumped up a few days so she wasn't in town during my taping.

  • The one with the assassin was good.

  • @theitzybitzydrider I liked that one best too!

  • @theitzybitzydrider The main actor is that one is in almost every student film from the guys at Confederation College. Thunder Bay is small so they have to make use of a small pool of talent.

  • Yeah, it is suprising how many student films posted on youtube use someone else's music. Half the time, youtube mutes the video so that the posting is completely useless. Students just keep doing it though, so I don't think they're going to learn.

  • @InfraDread I think it is just American and British students that are using copyrighted music frequently. Student films from other countries almost universally use original music. I don't know if this is a cultural thing, where there's a lack of respect for musicians, or if it's just that the universities aren't teaching the students to be respectful. I often wonder if some of these students get sued.

  • @MrFantasticPlastic I watch tons of student films in an effort to find ones to run on my show and I can say with some authority that the abuse of copyrighted music is universal to all students.

  • Many students use copyrighted music because they don't believe they'll ever show their short outside of class. But if they make a good film, suddenly they want to enter in in festivals, but they have to back up and redo all the music. Seems to me it would be easier to just use original music to begin with.

  • the first video is pretty cool

  • I think many students use copyrighted music just because of laziness. I think it detracts from the over all viewing experience. The second I hear something I recognize in a student film, I cringe.

  • @MrsUltraNothing I agree.
