Metal is metal. Djents a cool name for the style. It stuck so leave it. Im such a huge fan up the punchy mids and tight low end. I hate when mids are scooped so u can't hear voicing and tone. The polyrythems are amazing. How the kick drum follows the guitar accents is awesome. Makes it so much punchier n talented. So many techniques used in djent and that's why to me, its the most talented subgenre of metal and probly the most relented music ever. Groooooooove!

I don't understand why all these people complain about Djent being a new Djenre of music... The name of a Djenre of music is a very arbitrary thing anyways. You know where the name Rock and Roll came from?! It was a term coined in 1954 by a disc jockey. The term means either intercourse or to rock back and forth. What about "DJazz". Well, there is no definite etymology of the word DJazz! It's so arbitrary! Djust enjoy that awesome music. Nice sound btw! Stoked for the new album!

i don't see why djent being an onomatopoeia or a technique should have anything to do with whether or not the word should be used to categorize music. there's a new wave of music in metal that relies heavily on using that technique and we have to call it something... so djent works. at this point you hear the word 'djent' and you know what the person means, so that's what it's called. it's better than letting it get called palm-mute-core or something. can't change it now anyway bruh

@Periphery It's like when people started calling Sabbath heavy metal. I describe Periphery as progressive, because thats what it is. But the general audience is just going to call it djent and so now any band that bends on the low register or utilizes syncopation is automatically djent wether theyre palm muting all 4 or not. You wouldn't refer to black metal as blast metal even though its a technique they utilize.

How can you judge periphery on one single riff, that may not even be the final version of said riff, and therefore write them offs as sell outs etc ? That's just fucking stupid. Some people find this 16 seconds boring and uneventful. Periphery should rewrite all of their music so every single rhythm, note, chord, chugga, boots'n'cat, etc. that takes place at each millisecond is so complicated that it literally sounds like: Dje-BLAHDDAFUGGAHAJEEKUHSUGGAD­UGGAFLOOSHHH.

That way there literally isn't even room, or time, for dissatisfaction.
