@ogi415 Planes come in many different forms to do the same job. Diff countries design jets with diff ideas of what flying characteristics constitute the perfect fighter. J-20 is obviously designed to copy F-22 performance and function. The fact that the J-20 development program accelerated so fast right after F-22 production, also hints towards some copycatting. Honestly, we will never know for sure. J-20 does look like Eurofighter Typhoon and F-22's love child though.

The J-20 is not a copy because that is the general shape for a jet figher to have stealth capabilities, and currently the most efficient. This is a known design/engineering fact and even the Russian stealth fighter exhibits this shape. Any other shape would increase it's radar signature or lessen agility for dog fighting. Even the later F-35 continues to incorporate this shape as no scientist or engineer of any race or country has found a better design as of to date.
To say J-20 a copy is like saying Airbus copies all of Boeing's airliners because they all exhibit wide wingspans,row seats,and multiple engines.The Germans invented stealth to counter Britain's invention,radar.We learnt this design during WWII, by stealing and shipping a Horten HO-229 plane back to the US.The HO-229's general shape is still being used on our B-2 and F-117 stealths,and on some Russian prototype bomber stealths.It's the only general shape that'll work for stealth bombers

@ogi415 Planes come in many different forms to do the same job. Diff countries design jets with diff ideas of what flying characteristics constitute the perfect fighter. J-20 is obviously designed to copy F-22 performance and function. The fact that the J-20 development program accelerated so fast right after F-22 production, also hints towards some copycatting. Honestly, we will never know for sure. J-20 does look like Eurofighter Typhoon and F-22's love child though.

The J-20 is not a copy because that is the general shape for a jet figher to have stealth capabilities, and currently the most efficient. This is a known design/engineering fact and even the Russian stealth fighter exhibits this shape. Any other shape would increase it's radar signature or lessen agility for dog fighting. Even the later F-35 continues to incorporate this shape as no scientist or engineer of any race or country has found a better design as of to date.
