  • its not just christans its all reliogons

  • @EpicEudy i used Christians because that type of Close minded seems to be the most common

  • you know what you cannot win with Christians becuase they will not listen to any sane argument all they do is ignore the facts and keep Spewing the same Biblical crap at you oh Paganism is Satan paganism is satan Wicca is Satan wicca Satan or wicca is not a Ancient faith

  • who hear believes Hell is a Scare Tactic Used by the church to scare people from other Religions

  • no its not a scare tatic god made hell to enforce the idea that bad actions led to bad consiquences

  • I grew In a Evangelical family so you know its hard for me my mom is the only one in the family that agrees with my beliefs in Paganism

  • It's ironic that I've come across this video today, because just this morning I had a dream that my math teacher was helping me with an assignment, and somehow my religion came up. She said, "This is great for Christians- wait, you are a Christian, right?" I replied, "No, I'm a Pagan, or something- I'm still learning." She became very quiet and looked at me with an expression that made it obvious what she thought.

My point is, I said Pagan because that wasn't as bad as a witch, in her mind.

  • Even though I may not completely agree with her in the origin of the strength of the prejudice towards the word "witch", I must admit that Starhawk has a point: it is important to use the word.

Since witches are presently supported by religious rights, I guess it is time to show people that witches are common people (and good people in most of the cases) and not as rare as it seems.

The term "pagan" itself has a negative conotation in christian societies and it must be fixed.

  • I completely agree JulioMarco. Good to know some people know their stuff, at least. ;)

  • Waltown69, my my what a hostile comment. Obviously a nerve was hit. "Feminine men"? Hmm.. must be a sexist nerve that was hit. Listen, if you're so masculine and all, try to represent masculinity intellectually. Instead of making a fool of yourself in the world wide web for all to see. Your comment does not prove valid. "EVERYONE" does not find humor in what you claim to. Your point is instantly void. And learn to read, it's "Starhawk" not Hog. Try not to be illiterate. K? K! :D

  • @YourDarkAccomplice sadly, what he said is true. Which is probably the reason why pagans for the most part should go back to being more secretive. It was more fun that way anyway, and you didn't have all these idiots in the movement making everyone else look bad every time they opened their ignorant mouths.

  • @Dix994 - I do not believe what he said is true. Haha, but I do agree with the pagan path needing to be more "esoteric." That's the main essence, anyway. But then again, there needs to be a balance in life... and if it's too esoteric.. too many people will forget to listen to their hearts and fear (like the mainstream religion teaches) will take it's place instead. I have a silent trust that things always balance their way out naturally.. people just like to complain about SOMETHING! lol ;)

  • You are like Willow Rosenberg, but not as cute.

  • Wise and true beat cute every time ...

  • cuteness ain't what counts, Ms. Golem, if i may call you that. aaaaand of course "Cuteness" is kinda subjective. i think her voice is kinda cute.

  • that is so very true, men are scared of the thought of women having power that they use thier physical strength to put women down, but it is the women who has the real strength, strength to give life, we live in fear every singe day because there is always a high risk of getting raped and murdered, im 14 and im a practicing witch and i think what this lady said was so true.

  • @earthwaterfireair1 putting the word "some" in front of the word men would be good...

  • Well said. I'm an out of the closet witch and I run into so much superstition and ignorance! Amazing what a few centuries of extreme, misogynist patriarchial religion will do to a society's psyche. Change comes sooo slowly...

  • I've never been in the broom closet, but I wanna stand up for Pagan witches everywhere.

  • Exactly! I call myself a witch because of the need to put it out there, that this is what a witch looks like, talks like, and I am not green and evil looking or behaving. It is so important for us to get out of the "broom closet," although I know it is hard for so many to do so. But I have, and if people don't like me for being a witch or wearing my pentacle, there is nothing I can do about it. If someone were to approach me and ask me questions, I would surely answer them.

  • @spiritualwitch01 Coming out of the broom closet is HARD? Come on. Hiding yourself from flithy human-centered religious fanatics is hard! I'm an Earth-based Jewitch furry who wants her own tail. Throughout most of my life I've been forced to hide my tail and act human among monotheists for whom man is G-d's chosen animal. If Satan were real he would side with human-focused humans, NOT us Witches, hippy Jews or furs. I wear my tail in public a lot now. Fur ravers must vanquish 2nd-Genesis evil!

  • @astridkitty1212 so your a jewish witch do you use the quabbalah

  • @Joeyal123 Yes ;)

  • @astridkitty1212 my ex gf is Israeli she used it alot to

  • @astridkitty1212 is Witchcraft and Wicca the same thing ?

  • @Joeyal123 pretty much, Wicca is generally a modernized term for Witch to try and dissasociate the word from its negative connotation. But many Wiccans call themselves Witches for the reason Starhawk states in this video, the fact that there's NOTHING wrong with that word or what it means ;)

  • @astridkitty1212 thanks for yor help i was asking because a women who was cursed a Reverend was using it as a case Against witchcraft and how its a Abomination in the eyes of Jesus. but if you watch this video the women is Indian as in from India she is clearly got some serious Paranoid Delusions or Schizophrenia parts of India is known to be Very Anti Pagan and Witchcraft so naturally they preyed on her mental Disorder

  • I used to have this series on VHS, nothing like it these days.

  • I still have them on VHS! Must have been 20 yrs ago. I recently replaced my Goddess Remembered series from the Canadian National Film Board. Now they're on DVD. Peace :)
