  • So many ALCO's starting at the same TIME, great shots. my favorite is when they were smoking it up leaving Moscow.

  • The Canadian horns are both K5L. They are both on the low "L" manifold not the high "H" manifold.

  • Great video.1st time I have ever seen something like this

  • Why do you think they didnt test the M-3RT1s on the RS-3s?

  • @cweis127 They might have done it another day.

  • Me fav is the P5!

  • also alcos are my favorite locomotives, not only for the way they look, and the sound they make, but also there ecceleration speed is superior to that of EMD's.

  • @shininghappyperson7 acceleration

  • love the k5h & k5l!!!!!!!!!

  • So, it couldve been a CN/CP unit, then sold to E-L? That RS3L was probably installed by E-L

  • @cweis127 Check out the link I just put at the bottom on the description.

  • 2452 has one of the best RS-3L's i have ever heard!

  • @cweis127 I have to agree.

  • @CSX6000 was that its original horn?

  • @cweis127 I doubt. Probably built with an S3L... I doubt it was mounted where it is now too. That's a Canadian thing to have the bell/horn where it is.

  • @CSX6000 not CN but BC Rail owned it for a stint.

  • ahhh great horns and great alcos, what a sight and what sounds, well done!

  • Very, very awesome video Adam! Loved that Leslie on 2452!

  • Why to loud? thats dumb the louder the better!!

  • @bonehead1902 I agree!

  • Daaaaaaaang that's freakin awesome!! Once again great video Adam!

  • Hm... I see some potential for simulator horn sounds... ;)

  • Now those are some awesome horns! My favorite is definitely the K5L on 2461. I also like the P2, especially since it blows the ones Metrolink and Caltrain use out of the water. BTW, how come some of those C425s have two pairs of ditchlights on the short hood?

  • @GenesisSanctuary They were added when they belonged to BC Rail.

  • The K5Hs are the best, probably my favorite horn, but I'm sure they didn't pass.

I never understood how a train horn can be "too loud"...it prevents people from getting hit.

The P5 is a close second, also factoring in that that's my favorite engine on the DL roster.

  • @NJT4111 I'd love to see that engine painted in a PRR scheme.

  • @CSX6000

That would be nice, I personally like the beat up old NY&LE paint.

  • All of the Nathan K series designations are incorrect in the video. The 5 chimes are all K5H variants, not K3LAs and 2453 has a variant of a K3H, not a K3LA. Do you know if the horns that failed will be replaced or repaired? Also, thanks for posting that wicked acceleration clip. I've never seen anything like that. What a show. Great video, thank you for sharing this with us.

  • @ble909 Thanks for the corrections, and still complimenting on my video! I'm glad you liked it. I know some stuff about air horns, but the Nathans are more complicated than the Leslies!

  • Those K5L's are real boss. And the S3L has one bell silent, so it of coarse wouldnt pass. Why didnt they test D-L 3000?

  • @cweis127 It was in for repairs I believe.

  • @CSX6000 She has a Nathan K5H.

  • @cweis127

DL 3000 must have been tested, the last time I was there, her K5H was replaced with a black S3L, which stuck out on the red engine.

  • P5 All the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @49MCURLL49 I do like the P5 the best. The Leslie on 2452 is a close second though.

  • So which ones passed and which ones failed?

  • @LycoValleyRRFan I can't remember exactly. I think the P-2 was the only horn that passed.
