So James Lipton is not always correct. That episode of Golden Girls he showed is not Dorothy's granddaughter. It was a neighborhood child blackmailing Blanche. Such a simple inaccuracy to check.

@latinahoney123 an excellent point but maybe she was offered the role before he died.... don't forget in Hollywood projects take years in preparation and sometimes they are shelved until later. so she probably knew about the role 4 years before
