There is something you have to understand. Paul made better music but John wrote more meaningful songs that were alright sounding. ALL together Paul is a better musician. GO MACCA
stevemarson, . You obivousy never understood mind games, or any other album that lennon, or McCartney ever did wether together or seperatly in their solo carrers. You dare to attack the best songwritters of our age? the ones who really started all that you hear today
This is awesome. I don't remember this special at all. It would be nice for his new record company (Concord Music) to remaster this and release it on DVD with lots of bonus material. We also need Rock Show remastered and reissued on DVD. I have an old VHS copy but it would be nice to it on DVD with the entire concert performances included this time.
@zibbyzubb Oh I'm sure this is DEFINITELY gonna be part of the remastered "Red Rose Speedway" set when it comes out (next year I believe). "One Hand Clapping" was included with "Band On The Run" so it'd only be right to put this T.V. special on the DVD for "Speedway."
Damn, have some respect for Linda! I mean, Paul loves(ed) her dearly. For that alone, she deserves respect. Yeah she's not that good musically HERE, but give her a break, she was just starting out.
And about the show, my dad used to sell DVD and VHS versions of this on ebay back in the day.
gosh, and I thought i was the only one who loved Paul McCartney.......all of my life since i was born. Ha. Thanks for the upload. Wonderful musical education here.
Big Barn Bed sound like country music almost- shows how much variety paul has done from pop, rock, classical, country and everything inbetween and its all good..
Paul does play wings stuff live! he has since 1970's and still does today- just look onn youtube for wings live concerts, tons of em. Paul today still tours and does public concerts, where he plays a mix of osngs: some Beatles, early Wings, later Wings, solo work, his new hobby group of musciicns the Firemen, as well as the other Beatles' individual songs.
who areugonna weep on, who are u gonna sleep on, who re u gonna creep on next, weeping on a willow, sleeping on a pillow, lipin armadillo yeah!!!! definitly he rocks!!
Man I love Linda so much. And Paul of course too, and I love the Wings!!!
Linda makes Paul and the Wings Great!!!
I love all her harmonies and backing vocals in all the songs she's in. My favorites are Long Haired Lady, Beware my Love, Some People Never Know, and her harmonies in Arrow Through Me, and With a Little Luck.
She was/is so awesome. RIP Linda ..... you are missed.

I don't mind Paul's music at all, as a matter of fact I love it! The thing that I can't stand is the way that Linda tries to be so funny and end's up making a huge ass of herself, Paul must have seen something very, very special in that lady.

I can only imagine what John thought of his former partner putting out this garbage trying to look and sound like 70ish bubble gummer. Is this really the same genius who gave us Hey Jude and Let it be. Yoko wasn't good for John's music, but apparently LInda was even worse for Paul.
good music

I take it this program has now been remastered and will be included on the DVD portion for the reissue of "Red Rose Speedway" sometime this year.

@MattHatter I hope so! I have the soundtrack on a bootleg LP I bought back in the 70s. I haven't seen the video since then until i found it here.

This is freaking awesome, Wings were very versatile as a band, they could do a ballad and then come right back and rock the house!

Linda did just fine in the studio....love the little glimpse of "Bluebird".
She did just fine on that.

John Lennon was right - this is 'rubbish' and not worthy of Macca's best efforts by a long shot!
stevemarson 1 year ago
@stevemarson part of it definitely is, but what did Lennon write to prove he was better after 1970? ever taken a close listen to *his* muzak?
bloeddorstigbeest 1 year ago
@stevemarson
He might have been right, but let's not forget that Lennon was quite capable of recording garbage...especially with the Jap cow.
seventiesclassic 1 year ago
@stevemarson Really? John released some garbage too. "Somewhere In New York City" & "Mind Games" surely wasn't "Sgt. Pepper" or "Abbey Road" either.
blachubear 8 months ago
@blachubear Mind Games was not a garbage album.

I think that was the whole reason for forming Wings so he could sorta escape the Beatles Paul and start fresh with a Wings Paul.
