if i was you id use black powder not explosive poder id never use pyrodex just use the black powder with kno3 sulfur or powdered sugar and charcoal its just a propelant

You could combine both! Wrap a piece of wire rounds and round a match, making sure no wire touches another wire, and some part of the wire is on the matchhead, then wrap a piece of paper around the match, wind the wiere back down, attach two electrivally charged bulldog clip to either end of the wire, flip the power, and bingo.

grind matches up CAREFULLY or grind up fertilizer CAREFULLY. the fertilizer contains amonium nitrate and sodium nitrate which both are very explosive

Yes, they are. Same principle anyway. You have a problem with that? Bottle rockets can only be purchased close to the fourth, and on indian reservations, (unless you live in new mexico or something) These things can be made any time.

No you cant, they dont burn fast enough. Check out the book "Backyard Ballistics" they have a version in which you can use matches.

Gun powder is usualy higher power. I have never tried it with gunpowder. It could explode, or it could go higher, i have no clue.

Wellllll.... First of all you have to have a gun license for a black powder rifle... Some other powders for modern rifles would probably work just as well, but I dont have the license to get them. You could empty some fireworks out, (they are based on black powder) though I dont guarantee the result. Good luck, and be VERY careful.
