What an amazing performer. I'm usually in favour of the singing/speaking style, but he carries it off with grace. Derrick Brown continues to prove that he is an important staple in the contemporary poetry scene as performer, poet, and publisher of Write Bloody. Thanks for sharing.
Nice. I'm not generally a fan of this style of poetry, but there's really something special about Derrick Brown. He knows the value of simplicity without being too frank or blunt. There's just enough art in his presentation to prick your emotions and just enough honesty to keep it well rooted. A huge asset to contemporary American poetry.
