Thanks for this series of videos. I've suffered from plantar fasciitis and I'm hoping barefoot running/chi running strategies will help get me back on the road. I'm just getting started (slowly) but your 'marionette-knee high' method sounds like a worthy goal. I think I'd like to incorporate that kind of running once I return to sprint intervals. Please try make a film demonstrating the actual technique. Thanks so much!
Oh, for technique video's, by all means try putting the camera fixed on a bicycle. Just tape a little tripod onto the rear luggage rack or something. This makes for awesomely clear and stable footage. I've done it for roller skating and such. The camera boygirl only needs to ride alongside you calmly. Once you figure out where to ride to get the right shot, it's easy. I intend to do this myself, and compare my technique in various footwear styles, and at different fixed speeds ike 7/9/11/13mph.
Hi Skye! Since 2 years I've been into track running, now picking up barefoot and minimalist to rid me of foot injuries.
The forward lifting of the knees is all the bizz for track running as far as I know. Obviously, track is about more speed, less distance. One can practice the knee driving in slo-mo by making leaps. Right knee, left arm thrusting forward, and vice versa. If you don't feel like your exaggerating, you're likely not throwing those knees nearly high enough for speed work :-)
Das ist sehr gut.

I think the magic force is gravity, and your body is falling forward/down, as your move your feet under you :)

You've inspired me to be barefoot more. I now do all my workout barefoot and spend most of the day barefoot. Thanks and keep the vids coming!
