Ok kids heres an idea for you. Pippen is a fantastic player when plays second option to the defense. Now dont get me wrong in 1994 he was considered the top in the league after Jordan but in 95 the bulls sunk to an all new low without most of their original championship team. MJ comes back and they make the playoffs. Pippen fit perfectly with MJ more than any other player. MJ could not work with a center that just wasnt the bulls offense. Check out Magic at 3:04-3:21 . . . UNREAL!!! With a career cut short, the guy STILL wins 5 NBA titles. All this in the 80's, one of the most competitive eras in NBA history. They're both great, but if I HAD to choose one, it's MAGIC!!! I hate to have to choose, but Magic won in rookie year without Kareem, took Jordan longer. Magic never had Phil Jackson, & Jordan simply did not have the competition in the finals that Magic did in the 80's. The league was severely watered down in the 90's. MJ's!!

I mean MJ for example had his best yrs in the 90s, so did guys like Reggie Miller, Ewing, Hakeem, Pippen, Stockton, Malone, etc.

I mean you saw in the 91 Finals that they did not have many other superstars to support Magic. And the Lakers really never recovered until 1995-96 season to get back to NBA ELite again.

And the Bulls handled them in 5 games and the other Bulls TItle teams only got better and better (especially MJ and Pip) so no way they touch the Bulls. Really should have been a sweep if it weren;t for that Fluke in Game 1 (Lakers best game of the yr barely beat the Bulls worse game of yr in Game 1). Also I think 93 RD 1 Games1&2 were a fluke as well. Suns took them lightly. But its all speculation man.

@JZ2001JC Hate to say this but today's defenders are tougher... regardless of what Jordan or Pippen say... and I would disagree with Phil if he said Jordan could average 40 ppg... the coaching has evolved, the players have become more athletic due to scientific research methods in training. Also take a player like Kobe, he has similar skills to Jordan and he's got the same height. I can't judge who is better, both were on great teams... O'neal, Pippen etc just saying defenders today are better.

@tonychoitellem Agreed, the calls from the refs are tougher on the defenders now, but at the same time the guy defending you is probably gonna have hops too because basketball has become more scientific and now its the really small differences that win or lose games... although the finals 2011 the Mavs got progressively better each game, which was scary... anyways I think Kobe would have been more unstoppable than Jordan with his incredible jumpshots, but its a close call...
