  • Just recently got back into keeping fish after many years away from it, but man, this guy is just slightly more impressive than my single betta in his 1.5 gallon. Gorgeous fish.

  • i have two tiger oscars and i was wanting to now is do i change there water more often then every two weeks,by the way there in a 55 gallon tank just them.

  • @fishloverone Unfortunately two Oscars in a 55 gallon is overstocked. The general rule of thumb is one Oscar to a minimum of 55 gallons - obviously the bigger the tank the better. My one O is in a 62 gallon tank, with internal and external filters and I still do large weekly water changes to keep the water pristine and therefore my Oscar in top condition. Two adult O's in a 55 will lead to an increased bio-load and the risk of conditions such as HITH(Hole In The Head)and territory fighting.

  • @s4dana4 I have 2 oscars in a 55 for now. They are only babies but I am going to be getting a 125 gallon in awhile when they get bigger!!!!

  • @s4dana4 You are totally RIGHT!!!! and this is why your Oscar is in such amazing health!!!!!!!!!!

  • @fishloverone You can have 2 oscar's in the same 55 gallon tank no problem, especially if they are from the same batch (aka. brothers or sisters) the problem you are going to run into is the "crap" that these guys produce, 2 oscars will gum up and destroy your filters if you dont keep up on your water changes, this really thick slime will build up and the impeller will slow down, thus killing flow and killing filtration, other then that 2 in 1 55 is fine, with no rocks, no driftwood

  • omg it looks so mean!

  • why is my tiger oscar black and white? he's got these white streaks in between the black patterns instead of orange. could he be a wild oscar?

  • @dexOn22 Could be...check out some pics on google of wild O's and see if they look like yours.

  • VERY pretty oscar! i have 2 red oscars and 2 albino tiger oscars. all about 8 inches. yours looks super healthy :) check mine out sometime and lemme know if u have any pointers. im always open to suggestions! :D

  • @will20091995 absolutely not you would have to change the water every couple days you need the gph(gallons per hour) of the filter to be at least 5 times the amount of gallons in the water

  • @diablos123123 aha , can you please help me

i need the fuval fx5 but they do not ship to my country please need it

  • i have a 4'' tiger oscar and 3'' albino.. all i have is a 55 gallon tank ima move them to.. wat type of filter do u reccomend?

  • Oscars are my favorite of all fish, they have alot of character and entertaining to watch.

  • how big is it now?

  • @mikeymul987 Approx 13.5 Inches and chunky with it

  • very nice fish nice color is he or she alive yet ?

  • @mikevvelez Yeah, still going strong. I did upload a more recent vid but it wasn't getting many views so I binned it.

  • Can they live with a black ghost knfe fish?

  • @Pimpinhoesforlife you could try but i keep a good eye on. but if they are really mean i wouldnt i had a Dinosaur Bichir and right when i put it in there they tryed to eat him.but you can try

  • @Pimpinhoesforlife The answer is yes, but make sure your tank will be big enough to accomodate two fish that can get very big. The Ghost will need plenty of hiding spaces and top water quality is really important as the Ghost is a scaleless fish and therefore stress due to poor water quality or bullying etc will result in increased chances of parasitic infestations such as ich/whitespot etc. Hope this helps.

  • @s4dana4 well thanks man

  • @s4dana4 i'm not sure, my knife killed my oscar, it sucks because my knife is so fucking boring!!

  • @Pimpinhoesforlife

NO. Bad response from s4dana4. A ghost cannot defend against an Oscar. Oscar's are food aggressive and ghosts are very shy. Yes a ghost grows large, but they CANNOT live with an Oscar. Great looking tiger s4 but comon. at leas give some decent advice.

  • @ReMz10184 All my advice is decent and gained from years of keeping fish. You'll notice I mentioned tank size and as long as that is big enough the Oscar wont feel it has to be either food or territory aggressive, couple this to the hiding places and I still stand by what I said: An Oscar and a Ghost can live together. I have another tank with a Green Terror, Senegal Bichir and a whole host of fish that you would never expect to co-exist peacefully, thx to a large tank with hiding areas it works

  • @s4dana4 for the average fish keeper that would be a disaster. keep in mind both you and i have extensive experience. a ghost knife should not be kept with an oscar. I have first hand experience with this going very poorly. there are always exception.

  • How big is the tank

  • @TheSapple It's a Juwel Rio 240 UK litres, which is approx 62 US gallons.

  • @s4dana4 really a neat and cool tank ...but is this a copper or a tiger oscar?

  • What ya feed him man?

  • @iJacksFishTanks Quality pellet foods such as the Hikari varieties: Gold, Bio-Gold, Staple etc mixed with frozen cubes such as mussels, beef heart and cichlid mix plus nice chunky earthworms every so often.

  • how long did it take for ur sexy oscar to grow that big?

  • Stunning fish, dude.

  • REALLY beautiful fish you have there.

  • georgous fish!

  • @melissapitmom Thanx for the comment - appreciated.

  • @s4dana4 is this beautiful eating machine still alive?

  • @zachn11 Yep still alive and still beautiful. I did upload a more recent vid but due to lack of interest I removed it - praps I should have given it a bit longer.

  • @adkraptor Dudes, chillax! What's up with the language. It's a fish video. OMgosh, Y'all need to simmer down!

  • @adkraptor Before slagging people off m8, check your spelling, because you've just made yourself look like the world's biggest RETART...oops sorry: RETARD!!

  • @adkraptor dumb sunbitch - would that relate to a intellectually challenged female who likes to spend all day on the beach? Whereas "Dumb Son Of A Bitch" relates to you.

  • @adkraptor M8! not only are you not a fish expert, but you're also severly lacking in the expertise department when it comes to stringing a coherent sentence together.

  • How do i bring out the colors in my tiger oscar. Every other week i change his water. Worms twice a week and pellets or flake the rest. he just has orange spots but they dont connect and they are small.

  • @pitbull0592 Hi again m8. Firstly how old is your Oscar, because their markings will change dramatically as they mature? Next I'd forget the flake food and concentrate on the pellets, make sure you go for a quality pellet such as the Hikari brands(cichlid gold, bio-gold, staple etc), get em off ebay if you can't get em locally, they really are the best feedstuff for enhancing colours and lastly move to weekly water changes - if your O's an adult. Clean fresh water = Healthy happy Oscar. :0)

  • @s4dana4 okay i have him on worms, hikari gold and staple and cut fish meat. he's about 2 inches and a month old sic ei had him atleast from petco. I'll try to make the once a week water change thaanks also

  • @orangefruit905 He's about 13.5 inches now.

  • @s4dana4 hey i have 3 baby oscar fish 2 of them aare always light in color,i dont know whats the reson pleaz guide, one of them is dark black looks great, all are active swim around and hungry like all oscars...lol

  • @vespilodegodfather Hi! No need to worry. Colour changes usually indicate how your O's are feeling. Pale/light in colour means stressed or anxious, whereas dark colouring relates to anger - does the darker one pick on or bully the other two Oscar's? It could just be because they're still settling into their new environment and getting used to you. What I will say is: make sure you've got a big tank or plans to get a big tank to house three adult O's. Hope everything goes ok.

  • hes ugly i have a tiger a red tiger and an albino tiger all are way more fabulous then urs

  • @michaelboulder1 Hey! you're one negative voice out of hundreds, but you're entitled to your opinion. While we're on the subject of ugly, have you looked in the mirror recently...better not or you'll end up with seven years bad luck. It was enough of a trauma for your parents when you were born...the doctor turned you over looked at your ass and told your mum and dad , they had twins. Oh and btw what are you doing for stunt double work, now the Shrek films have finished?

    I'm here all week LOL!

  • @s4dana4 dang u took him out he aint gone be talkin smack for a while lol

  • @pitbull0592 Yeah LOL!! I was actually hoping for a response, so I could bring out the big guns on him

  • is that a fluval filter?

  • @KingCharlieCKCS Yeah Fluval 405 external, coupled with Juwels internal filter system. Some people slag off the Fluvals, but I like em. Just replaced my external, first one lasted me about 5 years - not bad imo

  • and omfg u idiot.. theres no air pumps. that fish is dead everybody......

  • @derekh1214 Why is it dead?

  • @derekh1214 OMFG u knobber - do you actually think that air pumps have any benefit whatsoever in oxygenating the water? If you do then your more than a retard, than your stupid comment leads me to believe you are. Air pumps are for making pretty bubbles...NO MORE...and he aint dead yet after 6 years or showing any signs of popping off in the near future.

  • @s4dana4 actually the air bubbles do help. the amount of oxygen in the water depends on the surface area of the water. having bubbles increases the surface area of the water allowing more oxygen to dissolve into it.

  • @mgsg50 Soz m8 but got to partially disagree. The bubbles do nothing. The length of time the bubbles take to reach the surface is insuffiecient to diffuse oxygen into the surrounding water. An airstones function(other than pretty bubbles), is to disturb the water surface, causing ripples that increase the area of water in direct contact with the air, it is only then that a neglible amount of oxygen exchange takes place. I only lost my rag with the other guy, because of his crap comment.

  • @s4dana4 yeah thats what i meant by that. the oxygen doesnt diffuse while its in the bubble but when the bubbles join at the surface its creates so much more area. in both of my tanks about half of the water surface is actually i foamy bubbleness and ive never had a problem with fish gasping or becoming sick due to lack of oxygen. but yes you can get by without it unlike this derekh douche says

  • dude that fish is a beast, u should be proud.

  • he is a beautiful oscar

  • Meine Oscars waren 52 Cm GRoß, die Roten nur 40 cm.....aber das geilste was man haben kann.......sind jetzt im Zoo

  • Beautiful Oscar

  • Beautiful oscar

  • whats up with the gay music

  • @fingerboarder329 What's up with the gay comment?

  • @s4dana4 lol i was jk ok

  • @fingerboarder329 No probs m8! Call it anything but gay.

  • very nice oscar

  • do you think a approximately 4 inch oscar get along with two 4-5 inch malawi cichlids and a few 2 inch malawi cichlids

  • @TheSportsman99 I wouldn't recommend it. You need to make a decision whether to go with an Oscar set up or a Malawi one. Once the Oscar reaches maturity, he'll either snack on the malawi's or bully them to death. Add to this the different water conditions required: Oscars - more acidic soft water, while Malawi cichlids thrive in harder, alkaline water conditions. Concentrate on the Oscar, it'll be more rewarding in the long run.

  • @s4dana4 Thanks but already got the malawi cichlids, theyre cool but shy .the cool thing about oscars they are not shy at all

  • @s4dana4 ur dick,,malawis will b far more rewarding than boring oscars, not to mention the smell of them.

  • @MrBigdave111 m8, if I'd of wanted to listen to an ass hole, I would've farted.

  • Beautiful fish. Shite music.

  • @Danomite8 Thx for the first bit of the comment and your entitled to your opinion about the music...couldn't get the jaws theme tune.

  • wow he is preaty

  • @hihaaf3 Thx!! He sure is.

  • how big is he?

  • @the4blueturtles About 13.5 inches

  • how big should a tank be fo an albino tiger oscar and a normal tiger oscar

    Stunning fish btw

  • @the4blueturtles General rule of thumb is approx 50 US gallons per Oscar, so your looking at a 100 gallon tank for two O's. Add some dither fish such as Silver Dollars and a nice Synodontis catfish and it wont look so empty. You could try a 75 gallon for two O's as long as you've got great filtration and are prepared to do two water changes a week, one of them being at least a 75% change.

Hope this helps and thx for the comment.

  • @s4dana4 thanks

  • cool oscar terrible music..

  • beautiful fish. I really prefer these to the albino ones, just my personal preference. I would love to have one of these but I do not have a big enough tank and really do not want to play the game of buying progressively larger tanks.

  • @lola26granola Thx for the comment. Some albino Oscars are awesome, but I'm with you on prefering the Tiger O's. Just buy a 55 gallon tank and just have one Oscar in it. With a good tank maintenance regime and a healthy diet, your Oscar will thrive...no need to keep getting bigger tanks, unless you want to get more O's.

  • @s4dana4 I do have a 55, but it is occupied and I do enjoy the fish in it right now, but since the tank is not going anywhere it is something I will keep in mind for the future :) besides who knows, a few years from now I might be in a position to have a big tank full of these great fish! after i've paid off my student loans of course ;)

  • @lola26granola I've been told that a fish will never outgrow it's tank. If you buy a little tiger oscar for a little tank(not too small) it will be a dwarf oscar

  • @lola26granola I retract my statement after being told that oscar fish keep growing unlike other fish( although i am not certain as I am no expert)

  • @zeshleman I have heard that too about all the south american cichlids, but I would not want to put a fish in a tank that would limit its growth since when fish get stunted by being put in a small tank it shortens their life, not just their size.

  • nice oscar man check out my vids!

  • Awesome Fish, Awesome song!

  • do some oscars not get as big as others? i have a red tiger oscar that is only about 6-7 inches long and hes been that size for a few months. And its not because of the tank size, hes in a 55 gallon tank with a few other smaller fish. very UNcrowded tank

  • Damn, that's a real beaut. I work selling tropical fish so I know a lot about them, but all my money goes to drum stuff so I can't keep them! Think by the end of the year I'll have all the drum stuff I need (apart from breakables like sticks), I just wanna get a massive tank and raise either an oscar or some plecs from tiny to HUGE. Would love to keep silver dollars sometime too...

  • Good looking Oscar!

  • Very Nice fish man

  • @21kazama Didn't have the theme from Jaws and I like it anyway. Sorry it's not to your taste - hit the mute button :0)

  • @s4dana4 lol exactly what I did =) AWSOME oscar, how old is it?

  • I've got a 85 Gal Chiclid Tank, There are about 5 pairs of African Ciclids which are all about 3 inchs each, What i would like to know is if I can have a Pair of Oscar in there which are about 5 inchs. Would the Oscar harm the cichlids or will the Chiclids Nip the fins of the Oscars considering that Oscar move Slowly.

  • @donbosco225 Not good news I'm afraid. Once everything reaches maturity then your tank is going to be overstocked. Imo best to sort it now before it's too late. Keep your O's, lose the African Cichlids(different water conditions anyway) and introduce some Silver Dollars or other type of dither fish to compliment the Oscars. Good luck

  • such vibrant colors

  • @OmgLowBattery Thanks.

  • is it possible to have an oscar in a 42 gallon tank

  • @ripstickcamp It's pushing it, but if your willing to do heavy water changes twice a week, you may be successful. In the interest of the fish though, go for the biggest tank money or space allows.

  • @ripstickcamp i have a 3 inch oscar in a 20 gallon? i dont see why not, until he gets bigger then yeah unless you wanna fuck him over.

  • Best looking Oscar I have ever seen!

  • I just got my first fish,a albino oscar. he is about 2 in. long, I saved him from the tanks at wal-mart.Wow your fish is awsome!!He is a good looking fish! any tips for me to give mine a happy long life??

  • @carbonpoly Soz it's taken so long to reply.

Nice size tank, Nice size weekly water changes, Healthy diet (no feeder fish) and good filtration - Easy as that....I wish!

    Good luck

  • i have a great looking oscar ill have to put some vids up

  • i had one that lived to be 14 years old

  • can someon please tell me why my oscar sits in the corner when the light is on but when i turn it off he is off and swimming around... please help.

  • @Gamble20fo If it's a new juvenile Oscar then this is completely normal behaviour, while he get's used to his new surroundings.

Just take things slowly and be patient. Turn the light on add a bit of food and leave the room. Do this for short periods and your O will soon realise your not a threat but his source of food.

  • awesome coloring! how long do these species live for?
