Larry was a better shooter from the outside, perimeter, and freethrow line, % will back this up. Was a much better passer and rebounder,% will back this up. He was actually a better scorer, yes scorer! Just because you avg. more points a game doesnt make you a better scorer. Jordan was a better defender on a 1-3, but the only thing Jordan was better at offensively was driving to the basket. Not to mention Jordan racked up all those stats and rings when the League was at its worst, watered down!

You can never compare players from different eras. Yeah they played,but Bird was at his peak and Jordan was young..and then in the early 90s Jordan was nearing his peak and Bird was a shell. Lesser players and and centers, he could break it up. You had the worst ball-handlers at that time unlike now particularly the forward position. Also, most of those games. Larry destroyed those team offensively, he would get those steals when the team was behind and trying to make runs.

Larry Bird could do things offensively that were amazing and helped his team win. Cedric Maxwell should have won those defensive teams that Bird but "Mad Max" refuse to salute the flag (Jehovah Witness)and his attitude got him rejected. This guy took on Dr. J., George Gervin, and James Worhty. When he left, it was Dennis Johnson.

Bird is the only player ever to rank in the top 83 five major stats in the playoffs: points per game 26th, assists per game 26th, rebounds per game 33rd, blocks per game 83rd and steals per game 18th.
