This is frightening. It took me basically since puberty to age 17 to accept the fact that I'm a lesbian, and to see these people still filled with so much hatred for themselves almost makes me want to cry. All the idiots who say it's a choice, think about this one: Why the fuck would anyone *want* to be gay? GLBT people are treated like absolute shit, especially when they're younger. People need to be able to accept others so that they can accept themselves.

People who dont think homosexuality is normal are not necessarily Christians. They are the ones who don't listen to propaganda and urban myths created by gay people, e.g. research that discovered that homosexuality is normal. American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from their list of diseases based on referendum in 1973, followed by protests of gay lobby. How credible is any association that decides on facts by voting? I tolerate gays in the society but it is pathology.

I've been thinking about what I wrote and it's bothering me that it may be taken as anti-gay, when nothing could be further from the truth. The idea that anyone would be made to feel ashamed of something that makes them happy and hurts no one is wrong. But I'm quite sure there are many gay people who aren't happy, and do want to change. This film gives them no voice, no information whatsoever. And that's what I have issue with, the one-sidedness of the film. Not w/ gays in general.
Whatever you think about the actual issue, this film is a fine example of what's wrong w/ journalism and media today. It's about "Gay Conversion", yet almost the entire film focuses on those critical of the conversion methods. The people who've found it successful are given, at best, 1/10th the amount of talk-time as those opposed to it. Does gay conversion work? Who knows? You certainly aren't going to find out from this bit of "journalism." (no i'm not anti-gay. many of my heroes are gay.)

In the past only few people were gay. Today almost everyone is gay. Biologically being gay leads to extinction. I am straight but having sex with women is hard work and mainly suffering. Because of female attitudes, not because of their bodies. I heard that smiling at a gay man while being gay leads to having sex. I guess a lot of males turn 'gay' because they experience suffering when talking to women.

I am a gay man. What makes me gay is that I am attracted to guys and not girls. In other words, I never had the desire to have intercourse with girls. It is as simple as that really and I have to be honest about that. Some people are simply attracted to those of the same biological sex and not the opposite one. Actually, we know quite a lot about it. Hundreds (if not thousands) of so-called "ex-gays" have come forward--including even FOUNDERS of "ex-gay" groups--and have testified publically that these programs not only do not work, but actually cause harm to their victims. Scientists who have studied these groups come to the same conclusion.

Actually, the do. If a gay person is a member of a conservative church, tremendous pressure is put on them to "change" their orientation; if they refuse, they are shunned. I believe that one can convert, because it's mental. Anyone who understands psychology realizes that who we are is based on neurological connections established throughout our lives. The problem is the "therapy" he offers his clients (victims) is teaching them self-loathing and is doomed to failure (which will only exacerbate their self-loathing). If he wants to help them, he should help them be comfortable with who they are, the way God made them.

@PaoskInauke Human sexuality exists along a continuum, it's not just "A" or "B", either gay or straight. Some people are alomst exclusively one or another, but many people fall somewhere in between on the scale. Sounds like you may be bisexual.
Also, women seem to go through stages. Some women go back and forth between straight and gay--but this still doesn't neccessarily mean they have a choice in the matter. Whether it's hormones or something else, it's a matter that needs lots more study.

This is your first error. Being gay implies just as much a "sexual preference" as being straight does. Actually, being gay (or straight) is a *sexual orientation*, not a preference. Spend a little time and study those verses in the Bible that you think condemn homsexuality. Since you are condemning others based upon those verses, you need to be certain. They are the ones who don't listen to propaganda and urban myths created by gay people, e.g. research that discovered that homosexuality is normal. American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from their list of diseases based on referendum in 1973, followed by protests of gay lobby. How credible is any association that decides on facts by voting? I tolerate gays in the society but it is pathology.

I've been thinking about what I wrote and it's bothering me that it may be taken as anti-gay, when nothing could be further from the truth. The idea that anyone would be made to feel ashamed of something that makes them happy and hurts no one is wrong. But I'm quite sure there are many gay people who aren't happy, and do want to change. This film gives them no voice, no information whatsoever. And that's what I have issue with, the one-sidedness of the film. Not w/ gays in general.

Whatever you think about the actual issue, this film is a fine example of what's wrong w/ journalism and media today. It's about "Gay Conversion", yet almost the entire film focuses on those critical of the conversion methods. The people who've found it successful are given, at best, 1/10th the amount of talk-time as those opposed to it. Does gay conversion work? Who knows? You certainly aren't going to find out from this bit of "journalism." (no i'm not anti-gay. many of my heroes are gay.)

@PropheticVindicator Amazing, you are actually glorifying ignorance. But your position is not biblical. The Bible says, "study to shew thyself approved unto God" (2 Tim. 2:15). Of course, St. Paul isn't talking just about earthly wisdom, but he was a Hellenized Jew and made full use of both religious and secular learning, as can be seen throughout his writings. I suggest you follow his example so that you may "rightly divide the Word of truth," and not just regurgitate what others have told u.

@MattFrame Being gay is a choice, since being gay implies a sexual preference. Love is not sex. Only men and women have a spiritual unity ordained by God which homosexuals will never have. Homosexuality is a bedroom preference.
You have a choice to have sex out of marriage, lust, steal, lie, etc. Keep searing your conscience. You love your sin and employ others to agree with you to try and ease your conscience. The Devil is also helping you, because he wants you in Hell. So far he is winning.

Last year I fell crazy in love with a woman but it was broken off quickly (because of confusion). I might not have experienced any sexuality with her, but this girl was ultimate bliss. So explain the gay community anomalities like this please!

@PaoskInauke Human sexuality exists along a continuum, it's not just "A" or "B", either gay or straight. Some people are alomst exclusively one or another, but many people fall somewhere in between on the scale. Sounds like you may be bisexual.
Also, women seem to go through stages. Some women go back and forth between straight and gay--but this still doesn't neccessarily mean they have a choice in the matter. Whether it's hormones or something else, it's a matter that needs lots more study.

This is your first error. Being gay implies just as much a "sexual preference" as being straight does. Actually, being gay (or straight) is a *sexual orientation*, not a preference. It is not a choice. When did you choose to be straight? Yes, you have a choice whether or not to have sex, but you don't have a choice about your orientation. I suggest that it is you who are being used by the devil.

Sadly, PV the only real choice regarding the subject of homosexuality is to deny reality and remain ignorant. You are free to revel in such a sad lifestyle choice, but those of us capable of higher thought know and accept the fact that sexual orientation is an innate, unchangeable characteristic, bestowed upon each individual by the Lord. Should you ever allow Him into your heart, you will also come to understand His will. Until then, the devil will continue warping your "mind".

It is then up to you if you decide to continue in that which is evil or repent unto God and ask Him to forgive you.

But Jesus reached out in love to those who were socially outcast, and the sins he condemned in the harshest terms were those of the self-righteous religious people. The Christian Right are our modern-day Pharisees, and they should be in fear of Jesus' Second Coming, because they will have to give an accounting for how they have used His name for evil.

@TheStrong32 Jesus never condoned anyone's sin. Find me one verse in the New Testament where He did. Jesus did eat with sinners and forgave many people of their heinous sins. However, in EVERY case these sinners were repentant. Are you willing to repent of your homosexuality and/or other sins? If you aren't, then the Bible says the wrath of God abideth upon you. It's not an issue of me using His name for evil. It's me agreeing with truthful outcomes spoken of in God's Word. Repent or perish.

@PropheticVindicator You are actually not "agreeing" with God's word, you are agreeing with an INTERPRETATION of God's word. Spend a little time and study those verses in the Bible that you think condemn homsexuality. Since you are condemning others based upon those verses, you need to be certain. Don't just give them a cursory reading, look at them in their original languages and in their context. Take time to listen to the other side, don't just regurgitate what others have told you.
