My mother was 13 years old at the time. I cannot imagine how scare she was after this tragedy and everything else that followed. Nicaraguans have suffered so much.

The downfall of Nicaragua came about when Sandino was assasinated with the collaboration of the US rulers, in an effort to destroy the will of the people to defend themselves and as they have done in so many other countries around the world. Of course, they always depend on the ignorance of stupid uneducated idiots as bigeddy74 and others that post comments. Hay que saber la verdad sin insultos broder. La verdad es que Daniel Ortega se esta comportando como dueno de Nicaragua igual como Somoza. Habia un tiempo, y el tiempo fue el terremoto que el sector privado lla no pudo negociar con un subjeto de Somoza.
