Yep, this was the best EA hockey game by far -- it was ranked #47 on IGN's Top 100 Games of All Time list in 2005 (Madden NFL 2004 was #38, Halo was #30).

However, NHL'09 is really close, and I think NHL'10 will finally beat it.

the key to playing good D on NHL 94 is to stand still

and press b for a poke check, if u use the speedburst u will most likely pass up the offender!

Unfortunately, you have to read the forums and wait for someone to post a topic taking names for a league.

Try joining the forums and posting a message to "Evan's Welcome Area" saying you're new and want to play a few games against people online. Install "AIM" instant messaging software and include your account name in the post.

To get the version with the 2007 players, check the "Mack's Hacks" forum and go to mack's website (click the big picture in his signature in his forum messages)
