  • What, love for Dave Sanborn? This was really HIS era, as a studio musician. He was everywhere.

  • 4 the hardcore only!!! all others go play to gaga..

  • This is awesome. I've had an ongoing battle with a friend who swears I am wrong about it being Freddie,Brian and Roger on backup.I know Freddie when I hear him, damn it!

  • @CRBjeep it is Queen on backing vocals, also I think the sax is the guy from Young Americans by Bowie.

  • Whats the diiiiiiiiiiiifference between this version and the one on "Shades?" My brother lost the second LP form this one of mine...idiot!

  • Check out Rant....If you havent heard it yet....Ian going back to his roots....Great stuff.

  • If you own this album(first of all your Damn lucky) But what an amazin lineup!!!!! Sorry,Thats the understatement of the century!!!F&ckin Sick Lineup!!!!! Sanborn Is Probably the"least" known on this one ......is that ridiculous or what???

  • Ian Hunter is NOT under-rated as quite simply he is one of, if not the best, songwriter in the history of R&R imho :)....

  • @MrMotthead69 I would agree, he's not under-rated cos everyone that knows his stuff rates him number 1!

  • Damn Freddie sure did get around! Great song, haven't listened much to Ian Hunter before this. I'm glad I finally made the acquaintance.

  • The very best of 'white boy blues'!

  • Is that Bowie on sax. Sounds very much like him. Ants

  • @antsdick if iam not mistaken, i think it was David Sanborne!

  • @antsdick Im pretty sure that this is an alto sax, and i think bowie played tenor. Thats not to say he couldn't play alto too though

  • In fact, this mob were so good that on their 70's UK tour Queen were the supporting act!

  • True man, Ian's the most underrated singer/songwriter the UK's ever had.

  • This song ROCKS!

  • Who plays the piano? It doesn't sound like Freddie...

  • @robertov7

    It's Chris Stainton on piano.

  • @robertov7 It is Ian himself...

  • Ah! Just bought this on vinyl! Roger is credited as "Roger Meadows Taylor"

  • I have never heard this before ... very cool xx

How about Letter to Britannia From Union Jack.

    Great piece.

  • i love this fucking song

  • Great stuff. Been a long, long time without hearing this one. Thanks Dave, Could you put up the title track too?

  • This song simply kills me every fucking time. Thank you.

On a different note -- Ian Hunter played tonight, here in NYC. I am SO sad I didn't go...

  • Dave, you're unbelievable man..been looking out for this for so long on u tube..was on the verge of dragging the old vinyl out of a dusty old suitcase..molto respecto soul brother.

  • why is Ian Hunter so underated?

  • @fatley He is many times quite self-deprecating and never really goes into his personal feelings much. "You Nearly Did Me In" still makes my eyes wet with tears...

  • @fatley I love Ian Hunter's song but his voice
