Each of the item keys (excluding the Master Key and the Dud Key) has a magnet in a different place, and will line up with a magnet in a particular slot. The Dud Key has no magnets and the Master Key has a magnet in all 3 positions.
This is my favorite type of Master Key, where you get the dud key and then the Master Key. I can't fully understand why, but I think it involves the mood swing.
It's rare to say a game won has a happy ending besides the person winning the prize. It looks like this story does have a happy ending with him now able to come home to KC.
Years ago, a contestant got both the car key and the master key. Bob mentioned it was the first time it had happened. I suspect they'd somehow signal Drew to have the contestant try the Master Key first, as it would be anticlimactic to open the lock for the car and then have the player check the other key for two run-of-the mill prizes.
Now, what they need to do is, after the game is finished, the turntables should turn back around to hide the game right before the commercial break like it it 37 years ago.
I was watching Master Key earlier when I made some Chocolate Milk and this one guy got only the Dud Key. I felt so bad for him.

Wow, never seen that before. A constant picks both the dud key and the master key in one game. Congratulations to him.

This is one of the most exciting games on TPIR. Pity it isn't played more often.

And they'd probably tell Drew what showcase to reveal first; I noticed that every DSW is always revealed last.

You know, I have a feeling that TPIR is starting to recover from it's "commotions" thanks to DiPirro.
