  • What the? 240p? long time no see...

  • love it xxx

  • that just has to be the BEST choreography EVER :D

  • I love slow sex to this song. It reminds me of when i used to cook fire crackers and potato stew on the beach. Then we would make sweet love to this song all night long on repeat.

  • When did they won?

  • Makes me kinda wish i had enjoyed the 70's like i enjoy today :)

  • this is quite a creepy song, untill you realise they are singing about his daughter/kids lool

  • Very cute song when you think of your kids...

  • Kinda cute.

  • Need woman for cooking! For all the other stuff I´ve got my four supermodels at the beach. An experimental video-music-project on my channel. Some hate it, some just don´t like it. But see for yourself. On my channel. Ay caramba!

  • Volvo threw this in as a complementary cassette when my dad picked up his then new, 70's orange 244DL. Like you christian4ever4, I was also 6. He passed on unexpectedly in 1994 and this brings back those earlier times with him.... and the smell of our new Volvo. Such a cheesy tune, but yet so comforting to listen to.

  • I think the vocals are not live... 0:27 they sing without microphone....

  • It sounds like German drinking music.

  • I've loved this tune since I was 9 years old, it takes me back to a more innocent time, when music wasn't all about filth, bitches, hoes, sex, butts and popping a cap in somebody's ass. I love the cheesy choreography in this video!

  • i was 5 when mum use to sing this to me .. so reminds of me and her dancing in our living room xxx

  • class song 70s 4ever and ever

  • my nanna always used to sing this to me whenever i slept at her house to make me get to sleep sadly she passed away so whenever i feel a little down this song just brings back all the amazing memory's she left with me RIP nana ! x

  • how songs stay in your head for such a long time hidden somewhere... today I went out for a coffee.. and returning home this song came out from nowhere.. and I had to look for it.. and here I am.. last time I herd this song was 76/77.. I was around 10 y.o. ..... go figure...

  • Embarrassing that playback. Why did they need an orchestra??

  • its funny how one year sticks in your head. For me it will always by 1976. I left school, and home and picked apples & opened scallops for the year. And listened to the radio.

We couldn't wait for the top 20 on Friday night to see if Fernando or Don't go breakin my heart or Howzatt was still no. 1. That last song may have only been no.1 in New Zealand.

  • Super retro!!!

  • so gutted this is the no1 song on day i was born so lame:(

  • Seein a man with a pornstache and a hairy chest sing and dance this sweet tune with a silly choreography is the greatest thing ever!

  • one of them reminds me of keith lemon!

  • The start of that wonderful long hot Summer of 1976.During which I fell in love and got married in October.still together. This group/song sums it all up perfectly,Such different happy carefree days,I was so lucky.

We all look at and maybe laugh at their fashions but this is how it was then, jackets, wide open neck shirts, none of the trendy tracksuit/trainers type leisurewear then as now.which if you look at it , is it really so different ?, I am not so sure.

    Absolutely timeless !!

  • i remember standing on a chair and singing this for my mum i was only 5

  • Thumbs up if you think Ainsworths da man!

  • All the ingredients for a great Eurovision song.

  • ABBA for poors..

  • yes, deze moet winnen!

  • I was 5 or 6 when I used to put my head on my mother's lap and listen to this song. She died in 2000 , she was all I had, for my father had died when I was 1 year old. This is the song that reminds me the most of my late mom. I'm 40 now and just can't understand how I became this old. I'm still a kid ... I want my mommy :(

  • @christian4ever4

Do you live near a school? Are you a scout leader or youth club volunteer? Sing in the church choir?

The Daily Mail would love to hear from you. Don't worry, they only want to write an article about your contribution to the local community. They'll even give you £150 if you let them flog your address to The Sun.

  • @christian4ever4 I know exactly what you meen i lost my mum this year i'm now 58yrs old i remember all these songs may are Mothers R.I.P. xxx

  • @christian4ever4 my mum died 5 years ago i still want my mummy xxx

  • @christian4ever4 I remember this very well too :) We used to watch the Eurovision Song Contest every year.

You know, keep those wonderful images of you and your mother, they are simply beautiful.. Enjoy everyday o your life, I am sure she would want you to be happy... All the best!!! :)

  • Beschissene Choreo ;D haha aber sonst alles oki ;D xDDD

  • I was just 6 years old when i saw brotherhood of man sing this song on eurovision on saturday 3rd april 1976. A classic song that always takes me back to my childhood innocence, great days, better than the rubbish being played these days, the last twenty years has been awful and its only the 1970's and early 80's that really make me feel nostalgic!

  • Cortinas are us good days

  • Brings back memories of such a happy time in life....

  • Poor man's ABBA. Now excuse me while I go and crap some fairy floss.

  • I can still smell the 2000e cortina, when i had the mk2 1600e.Good days

  • This was number one when I was born.

  • brings back fond memories :)

  • at least they won for the UK thumbs up for the win :)

  • so silly, impossible don't laugh. Yes they are americans, ha ha ha!.

  • GAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • I always thought the song was sort of corny, but nothing quite prepared me for this. I guess they expect this sort of thing for Eurovision; it makes Tony Orlando and Dawn look cool, even downright sinister, by comparison.

PS: Noticed that most of the negative comments were flagged as spam. A but touchy, aren't we?

  • @lrd9999 Did I really type that? I meant "a bit touchy". Must have been a Freudian typo after reading all those "spam" comments.

  • Dressed up like ABBA, but the music is far better...

  • Haha I love the ending.. "Although you're only three" XD So cute;)

  • Wow, I guess there's always someone who's going to interpret this as being paedo! Obviously, it's from the point of a father telling his 3 year old daughter not to be upset cos he's going away, and to save her kisses for him!

  • They were always known as the poor mans Abba.

  • Coinscience that The Brotherhood of Man won Eurovision two years after ABBA won with "Waterloo"?

  • so funny

  • awh my dad used to sing this all the time when i was a kid brings back so many memories love you dad xxx

  • Best. Eurovision. Performance. Ever.

  • He actually got a pretty good voice. The melody is very catchy. But their dance moves are just scary XD

  • de er ret friskfyrsagtige

  • @clachBhaig

    hi

    then how old y r?

  • I always wondered why chris rea looked familiar lol

  • saudades! :)

  • kakao

  • Esta es la mejor canción de Eurovisión

  • ive shagged the bird in red,she is slippery, but kind.

  • From what year's Eurovision is this?

  • @kristjanlink007 1976 in case nobody told you already.

  • great song with such a simple clean message...those were the days !!!!

  • I almost feel like I shouldn't like this(no offence), but I do. For me watching this is like taking a happy pill. Great group.

  • Hang on, its about getting a snog off a 3 year old?????

  • @ldlmedia It's his daughter saying goodbye as he's leaving for work in the morning...

  • I remember this like it was yesterday when I was about 7... omg now 42..

  • Skøn sang, man aldrig bliver træt af.

  • ich liebe diesen Song

  • Beautiful song. Must listen.

  • It also takes me back to those wonderful teen years when life was simple , secure and fun. No complcations anywhere. Was having the greatest of friends with friends. Nostalgia.

  • This was the best Eurovision dancing till the Swedish men in 1991. Perhaps actually it still is the best.

  • MÓJ PROFIL TERZ NA VIVA POLSKA.PL JAREK

  • CZSC TO JA BOZE JAREK JEHOWA BUUDDA JÓZEF ITD SWOICH IMION ARCH GABRIEL

  • This always takes me back to that wonderfully hot summer of 1976. The emotive power of music is a splendid thing. Every time I hear this I can immediately smell the freshly cut grass of my back lawn and hear the squeals of my neighbour, Raymond, as I thrashed him with a length of rubber hose for letting his dog, Sparky, shit in my garden again. This was playing on the tranny at the time. Golden days.

  • @ClachBhalg well i guess your a kind of nostalgic sadist lol i wonder if raymond cringes in terror every time he hears this and wonders where you are with your hose!!!!! :D

  • @ClachBhalg Yeah, thought that Summer and ones like it would never end. But they did.

  • @ClachBhalg This is one of the best replies I have read in a long time, thanks for painting that picture Picaso. LOL

  • @centralian1 A fellow nostalgist! Those were the days, my friend.

  • @ClachBhalg .....omfg man, your comment had tears rolling down my face laughing!! i am wheezing as i type this and trying to catch my breath,,,,,,,im thinking Raymond didnt really mind the thrashing?? back in '76, most men liked it :)

  • This is the first song I can ever remember hearing on the radio, and I still love it.

  • I think this must be the best song ever in Eurovision....

  • love it

  • cool, in belgium we call them nicole and hugo, the voice and the rythm are the same.

his song calls goeiemorgen morgen ( goodmorning morning)

  • Really, really cute. This is sooo English. Lovely.

  • Those bell kicks do nothing for me.

  • so they a abba copy but as a kid i loved angelo !! good voices wot more can i say

  • does anytime realize that this is sung for a 3 year old child...sweets!"!!! :D

  • Wonderful performance, absolutely fabulous. ABBA has nothing on u guys.

  • @vegassipu yes, but they copied ABBA............

  • @blondeglam95 hehe, too bad you did not understand my sarcasm, lycka till min vän! Skrattar...

  • @vegassipu "good luck, my friend?" what?????

  • @blondeglam95 Obviously you and I don't share the same sense of humor. I was a huge fan of ABBA, and I actually saw it live on TV when they won the Eurovision song contest. Please don't think I was trying to offend you or anything... I was basically trying to make a "funny" remark how rediculous this song was. I live in Vegas and no matter what we always wish everyone good luck. I said it in swedish so you might have understood the point I was making about this song and the connection to ABBA.

  • @vegassipu im very sorry for the misunderstanding. I reread your original comment and I now see the sarcasm in it. I'm very sorry if I offended you in any way. :) But that had to be cool to see it live when ABBA won Eurovision. Once again, I am extremely sorry for the misunderstanding!! :D

  • Ah memories

  • MY GRANMA SENT ME THIS SONG, IT BRINGS BACK WONDERFUL MEMORIES!!

  • Tell him I think he's cute;) and I'm not jewish LOL!

  • good

    boy

  • Martin Lee died last week- got into some beef with a banger about his ride & girl. Got his face blown clean off till the five-O couldn't even find half of it. lil too much jokin, you know what I'm sayin...

A pity, for real, he seemed a nice guy, you know...

  • GENIAL

  • its a great song but it sounds quite a bit like tony orlando's "tie a yellow ribbon"

  • That is such a sweet song one of this you can watch over and over again!

And it really is one for young parents...it is so sweet that it is about a little one not about his women or girlfriend...they got me...

  • i love it

  • @sarahspiv sarah i love it to!

  • such a rip off of ABBA.

  • @Jonneymarket You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

In the seventies, lots of bands consisted of two men and two women - ABBA wasn't the only one.

This is such a great song, and a cute performance. =]

Everytime I hear this song, I just start to dace along!

  • @Jonneymarket yes yes yes!!!! i totally agree with you!! :D

  • @Jonneymarket a rip off of abba?!? are you pissed u fuckwit.....sometimes i wonder how the fuck you youngsters have made it this far!!!!!!!

  • @skinnyrichard hmm check out youtube.com/watch?v=gwgxDfyeFSw&playnext=1&list=PL6C009E57C01EF975&index=31

  • aussieboy77.........what a twat!!!!

  • awww i remember sitting in front of tv singing along to this and cheering em on :-) aaaaah the good old seventies, how we miss em

  • This song was fantastic and the first chorographed danced routine bring back the good old days

  • excellent

  • Comment removed

  • Bad song, bad clothes, bad hair, bad dancing...what more can you say. BOM would be embarrassed watching this today.

  • @aussieboy77 what a comment ,i respect what is in your mind . but your comment is something horrible

  • @aussieboy77 you're a fucking idiot son,ive seen aussies around the world and most of em have bad clothes, hair and attitudes!!!!!

  • Best selling Eurovision song of all time.

    So in other words...

Most succeful Eurovision song of all time.

    Beat that

  • @superzigzagoon Not only that, but also the best selling single in the UK in 1976.

  • @superzigzagoon well, ABBA's Waterloo. So in my opinion, ABBA achieved a greater level of fame then Brotherhood of Man did. I could be wrong, but i don't see Brotherhood of Man having a best selling musical, or a movie. No offense, but I think we have to honor ABBA and how they kind of created this "look" so to speak that Brotherhood of Man copied.

  • @blondeglam95 agreed

  • Hooray, got all four of their autographs through mail yesterday, what a great group and still going strong after 3 decades

  • so cool ^^ what a catchy song! :) makes me feel happy :)

  • cool. LIKE IT.

  • 10 stars

  • Bring back all the Happy music! the world is missing its smile and kisses!

  • @jollyholliemusic totally agree with u! :)

  • the UK needs to get back to winning ways and the only way to do that is not to enter male dancers who skip and hop and prance around the stage like pansies because not only is it distracting it annoying too - I think if Josh Dubovie was on his own on the stage singing the UK would`ve finished a lot higher

  • i forgot to mention the UK got 10 points in last nights contest 29th may 2010 - thats how bad Josh dubowie and his male dancers were

  • scooch was another UK entry whose performance looked gay and they finished 23rd out of 24 enteries - i`ve got nothing against gay people but the point i`m trying to make is everytime the UK has an entry whose performance looks gay they do really bad in the contest

  • @2ocsid2 u think ?

bucks fizz - Camp - Gay - Winners

  • @StolenMonkey you think that bucks fizz looked gay when they won the contest - i don`t think so - remeber the skirt ripping to reveal those lovely legs of Cheryl and Jay - what did we have Saturday 29th May 2010- two guys dancing around like they were ballet dancies and looking at Josh Dubovie as though they were in love with him - it was gay and campand that why the UK came last - bring back bucks fizz any day and the legs of the women

  • The UK finished in last place in last nights eurovision song contest 29th May 2010 - Josh Dubowie singing That sounds good to me - crap crap crap crap he was singing with two fellas dancing around him his performance had gay written all over it - no wonder the UK came last - the members of the brotherhood of man should be brought back so the UK can get back to winning ways - the UK needs to get rid of performances that look gay to the audience

  • @2ocsid2

It was not the gay look.

It was a bad song and a bad singer with a terrible performance.

Gay look would win if done well.

    But not this way.

  • @schusterlehrling Remember Scooch in 2007 there were to camp fellas dacing and prancing around with the women - Scooch finished 23rd out 24 - the point i`m trying to make is everytime the UK enter an act that seems camp they do crap - the gay camp look does not work for Britain- last year the UK done really well with Jade Ewen finishing 5th with "It`s My Time" The camp look does not work and this is what happened on Saturday with those two male dancers

  • i love that dance!

  • Great memories from this song. Yes, i´m getting old....:D

  • One of the catchiest songs ever! Really memorable

  • Absolutely awful. Eurovision has always been ultimate gash.

  • sooooo cute! I miss the bigs orchestras on the contests....like it very mucho with music live also!

  • best eurovision song ever!

  • Very cute :)

    Love it

  • Life used to be so great!

  • bum bum

  • Song makes me happy!

Hoezo corrupt ?

  • it´s a beautifull song .

  • Best song ever, so sweet! I have it on my mp3 & reminds me of sunshine, 70s & England:)

  • EXcellent video

  • I would love to see them live there great

  • ho my god i was born only on 1981, what have i missed.. ! :-)

  • Hit #1 AC, #27 in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg It made #1 in the UK too

  • SO LONG AGO NOW

  • Happy innocent days before politics raised its head!

  • This is THE best Eurovision song, and still holds the record for the highest point total, taking into acount the voting system and number of countrys,

    It rules the roost:)
