  • can you send me a list to start my own filter station, all the items i will need to pump from cite and to bring home and filter? thanks!!! IM VERY INTERESTED!!

  • It's not difficult. Get some filters, get a stand, pour. Nothing magic, just think it through for yourself.

  • @smellslikefries yep learn it as you go i am doing the same thing right now

  • do you have a kit you bought for your car to run the fuel? or something you made? did you heat fuel lines and what not? thanks for your help

  • check my blog: smellslikefries -d-o-t- blogspot -d-o-t- com I put everything there.

  • I'm willing to take some of those exess filters off of your hands so I can start mine up

  • OK. msg me when you're ready.

  • Sure. msg me and we'll work something out.

  • lye and meta alchohol.

  • methol alcohol - Wood Alcohol - Methanol.

  • So filtering and that's it? Why do some use lye as an additive? And or other chemicals?

  • To make biodiesel, you add Lye and Methenol in the proper amounts, heat the whole mess up to about 60C (70C will ignite the methenol) mix it for a few hours and let it settle.

But I don't use BioDiesel. I installed a kit in my car that lets me burn streight veggie oil.

  • If I remember correctly the "journey to forever" site says just letting the oil settle for a couple of weeks is just as effective as filtering. What do you think? Thanks for the videos!

  • General opinions out there are that website is not to be trusted for anything more than its political messages. These opinions can be found at the mega-forum biodiesel-dot-infopop-dot-cc.

  • How many trees does it take to make these filter bags?

    You can't win!

  • Heh. Witty, but wrong. If the filters were made of wood product, 1 tree could make filters to process over 1M litres of oil. The energy multiplication would justify cutting down a tree. Nothing's free, but you can ceretainly "win".

  • Oh, and the filterbags are made of polypropelyne (PP) - the same plastic that goes into nalgyne bottles and baby bottles. Bisphenol-A and all that. PP plastic is a by-product of oil refinement. 1 barrel of crude would make enough filters to process about as much oil as 1 tree. Except 1 tree can grow back in 30 years, oil is more like 300,000,000 years. :|

  • Excellent work!!!!

  • where is a good place to buy the filter bags?

  • Fleabay :)

  • or Filterbag dot com.

I link to everything from my blog (smellslikefries dot blogspot dot com)
