The governement is not going to destroy retirees and boomers, we are going to destroy them. You can't have about 50 million people desperate and irate in this country without radical change occuring. I now know that I'm going to have to work for the rest of my life. I consider myself lucky, I have a job, my friends haven't worked in since 2008 and they have gone through their retirements and are about to loose their houses. I am very pissed and am not alone. There are more of us than them.

I would forget the false idea of superiority that Americans unfortunately have (please forgive my honesty) and go to Canada and Europe and healthy places, to work and live. You will have free healthcare, your children will be smart and healthy, and you will be taking care of important things in life, like family and friends. Yep, true. The percent rate is base on the people who are currently on UI. Pretty soon my unemployment check will be cut too. I am so worried. It is tough as a single person, I can't imagine people with family.

Christmas in 2 weeks.. it sucks. i got 3 checks for $183 a week left. i got a letter in the mail today stating i would not receive my 2nd tier because of budget cuts. no fault of my own. my rent is due on the first for the amount of $360 and utility bill in the amount of $260.. to put it simple..... im fucked

Everyone I know is unemployed and broke, 100% are barely surviving on US Government aide and many are looking to leave the US and live abroad as ex-patriots.

I agree. I was laid off from my job in may 2009. I have work about 8 out of 12 months doing temp work. I have had over 10 interviews, but have been unable to find a job. Currently, I have couple great opportunities with the government, but I am waiting on the budget to be approved and then I will no if I get the job.

Overall, there are no jobs out there and people should expect for 2011 to be another tough year.

This "application on file" thing is sooo impersonal. I remember going and getting the application, going on an actual interview, and letting the employer see what U look like and sound like and you could leave an impression with actually meeting and speaking with someone?...now it's all virtual...IT SUCKS

Uprated, favorited, tweeted and shared. Here in Saint-Denis, France, the economy is actually picking up. It is heartening, people are really on the hustle and are finding legal, declared work, but the real estate prices here are totally insane! Look at all the trash on my streets on my vids! Paris real estate is booming, but at least they have better services there and way lower taxes than Saint-Denis. I could sell my apt for a million? Huh?!

@tracycolorado I cut up my American credit cards last night. Last year was the first year since 1994 I ran up any debt. I acquired and am still acquiring silver, and plan to pay the debt down, it got to nearly ten grand. I actually do have the cash but prefer not to plunder my whole life insurance policy. I have never declared bankruptcy and have always paid off my debts, but I have been very off the grid since '94 when I had to leave the USA to get healthcare. Check out my vids! xo
