What was that? an understeer? because you came into the corner too fast? isn't that just a lift off thorttle and more steering to the left wouldn't safe that crash? explain plz what happened. thanks
If you are understeering in a leftie and you turn to the left more it makes you understeer more. He may have been okay if he had lifted but it's easy to armchair quaterback and say shoulda coulda woulda.
it looks like you early apexed it. were you taking that turn just like that before? were you trying to protect your position?
at HPDEs, i late apex that turn starting from the right just after the road around the time when the track starts to shift to the left. man, even then, at speed, i track out to the edge.
this one and turn four instructors and event coordinators constantly warn people about.
Hey bro! I was out on the main on July 11 2008 with the NoVA Corvette Club. I was in my supercharged Miata. I did the EXACT SAME THING... The rumble strips pushed me into the gravel, hit the pavement, went off but my rear end hit the embunkment sending me over onto my roof and then the wheels again. Nasty damage but the passenger and I both were fine. Gotta love safety equipment. The Miata is almost on the track again. See you out there!!!
I spent last weekend - at MARRS 3 - working Station 4 which is EXACTLY across from where your car stopped and, well, I'm sure you really made their day :-P "Emergency, Emergency at four!"... I should know, because someone else did the same thing last weekend.

The turn was taken offline and the driver didn't reduce speed to compensate.

yikes, that was quite a hard crash... or you could look at it as "breaking-in" your roll cage. any pictures of the poor 944 afterwards?
