okay, here's the explanation for City Escape: in sonic adventure 2(the game the level comes from), shadow the hedgehog, who looks similar to sonic, steals a chaos emerald and is mistaken for sonic, so sonic is captured by the government. as they take him by plane to their HQ, he espaces and uses part of the planes wing to streetboard. from there, it's just sonic trying to get away

yeah the level is taken from sonic adventures, so its really more of a throwback to a classic level from that previous game. The "snowboard" and giant truck are explained in sonic adventures but not in this game so thats an obvious flaw there. Also about the music, do realize sonic is rated E, of course the music is going to be rather generic :P

I bought SA2 on launch day 10 years ago, I said it then and I'll say it now. The beta version of the City Escape song is AMAZING (no lyrics, and some pretty good guitar parts), and it's a damn shame they threw it out and put lyrics on top of it. Hell, when I heard it as a 13 year old kid 10 years ago my first thought was "...if my parents or friends walk in on me playing this with this song playing, I'll never live it down".

I think SA1 is decent, though, even if the camera is a bit annoying. The camera and movement broke even further in SA2 and they removed some of the things I rather liked (free roaming world map, being thrown into nonsense without any clue what's going on).

Fraser, let me explain. The thing in the beginning was a piece of an airplane from Sonic Adventure Battle 2. The song is from there as well, and it was probably the best song in the game :P. The truck was a SWAT team following him, and the fact that it was so big confused everyone else too. The reason everyone loves this level so much is because it is just amazing, but this game makes fun of it and makes it more difficult also. I still enjoyed watching you play it though! I <3 your reactions!

I consider myself a Sonic fan, well at least the real Sonic of the early and mid nineties on the Genesis and not the ungodly abomination he has become now, but I found these videos hilarious. Part of the fun of this show is seeing Fraser whine and rage over little things, and watching Ben and Becky try not to crack up. I've seen 5 year olds play better than this. It's one thing for a game to have problems, but when thousands of people have gone into the same place and get through this without a hitch something's wrong with how you're playing.

I suggest practicing before streaming/recording like this again because everything that has happened has been the fault of the player, not the game.

This has to be one of the easiest Sonic games I've ever played. It's so easy to get S ranks without even trying and I've NEVER collected all the S ranks in a Sonic game before and it's easy to get collect all the achievements and the bosses isn't even hard even on Hard Mode. It's ashame that SEGA has to tone down the challenge and difficulty in Generations just so people who aren't that experience can get into it but some people still claim this game to be 'hard' even when it's really not.
