  • sweet jest ok

  • Im not fooled by you anymore..:) know that! Your lies are more and more evident.

  • Brian was an amazing front man, very sexy and wow what a voice~!!!!

  • Great song indeed!

  • Great song! btw, it really sounds like 'Satisfaction'.. lol.

  • Can you imagine this nowadays? Health and Safety would have a field day with those flames !!!

  • Mick Tucker...the man with the golden arm::))

  • Genius!!

  • Why no close ups of Steve?

  • I have been a fan of Sweet, since their start in the 70'ties :)

  • @KJmoped1972 Same here!

  • The Sweet time has never gone out much success

  • Man does Ace Frehley ever sound like him! I love this band!!!

  • this is one of my fave metal anthems

  • this is one of my fave metal tanthems

  • One of my faves :)

  • THIS SHOULDVE BLOWN THE CHARTS AWAY

  • sweet, was sonst!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome. i remember seeing this as a 10 yr old.didnt no who they were.fire marshals would never allow this today

  • Just one of so many amazing Sweet songs... & such simply gorgeous boys they were!!!

  • i like how the very first bit at the start sounds like it could be Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who

  • The cameraman had trouble focusing on Steve....not one closeup

  • @68bobba Exactly; in another vid Steve walks of stage for that reason, i heard he had a fight with the director so out of revenge Steve was left out of the vid; maybe it was the same director who directed this one

  • this song f*cking rules!!! <3

  • EASILY my favorite Sweet song <3

  • Oh, everybody stole from everybody! they All stole from the "Blues" so, whatever! Although, see what Brian was wearing? (wonder if "Cheap Trick" were watching.) Also, Great song!

  • i c lies in 3 peoples eyes

  • This was a big hit in Australia. Can they make some more like Brian please? He's gorgeous! RIP

  • 3 People cant read the lies

  • Hey Brian, it´s November again. Miss ya Darling

  • Sweet were such an exciting band. Just loved watching this clip. Its not the original version of the song. Sounds like its been remixed to give it a noughties production, It works pretty well I think.

  • fantastické

  • tolles Lied

  • Long live...Sweet!

  • FANTASTIC ...

  • This song kicks huge amounts of Butt! great stuff!!!

  • bloody excellent...fantastic band...lets have a greatest hits album ...when they penned their own...BEST STUFF

  • Just about every 1980s hair metal band was trying to be these guys and none of them even came close.

  • Glorious! One of the very best.

Give Us A Wink is one of the era's finest albums. Still playing it after all these years.

    We want Sweet ! :)

  • These guys were so ahead of their time, they should have been in the same league as Zepplin or any other band in the peak. Awesome, Brian is the front man but it is all their voices that make Sweet. I only discovered them recently through youtube but I love good rock and these guys did not get the due owed to them they are timeless.

  • @rvphoto BOUGHT THE SINGLES...AND FLIPPED OVER..TOP B SIDES

  • Awesome song [bought the single back then] but the moron-director misses Steve's lines EVERY time :(

  • I love the look of those guys !!! Brian kill me !!

  • This is definitely one of their better songs. Did anyone ever notice on the guitar riff gave a nod to the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction"?

  • @menchitty11

..And to Led Zeppelin (the riff from Kashmir) , and to The Who (the opening chords), and who knows who else

  • @seledia The Rolling Stones, there's abit of "I Can't Get N Satisfaction," in this song.

  • @seledia oh yeah? Zep (Spirit/Taurus) and Who (Kinks) lifted their own nuggets as well...

  • I'm sure I'm not the only one to dedicate this song to an ex.

  • die beste band der weld

  • einfach megamäßig

  • Mitici..Bravi!! bella canzone..quanti ricordi.

    Ciao

  • Brian, Andy, Mick and Steve - the one and only Sweet. Love it!

  • That flaming hoop in the background is awesome!

  • mick is the best drummer ever.

  • @selfie52 i bet it was hot as hell back there with that ring of fire right behind him

  • Suuuuper LIed .

  • MickCorgi , Mashina Vremeni (the car of time) was from USSR. It was one of the most popular group in the USSR.

About Zemfira. Her first songs were amazing but now it is not interesting...

The Sweet...I was a little girl but I very like Funny Funny and Co Co..I got the great pleasure to hear the songs

  • That drum fill that mick does on at 2:42 is fricken awesome!!!. He does it in some other songs too.

  • @TheChugulator Yeah he was a sick drummer. Really tight

  • I remember 1976. I am 14 years old. Moscow, iron curtain, Brezhnev and communism. My friend brought the April issue of Play Boy and disk Give us a wink. Believe me, get these things in the Soviet Union was very difficult. And the Japanese miss April and music by Sweet made great impression on me! I am pleased succumbed corrupting influence of the West.

For the first time I saw clips of Sweet. I amused look of musicians ... I'm probably too old. I'd rather listen to the recording.

  • I've been through Brezhnev era, too. I remember I was hearing a few songs by Machina Bremena over the radio. I don't even know the coreect spell of the band's name but I think they were from Moscow in the 1970s.

  • Those damn Capitalist Pigs!!!

  • Ever heard Zemfira?

  • Comment removed

  • One of my favourites. Phenomenal middle 8.

  • you cant compare sweet and queen queen used more over layed harmonies with mostly just freddie and roger sweet had 4 part harmonies they were underatted and had a lot of personnel problems whereas queen always remained a solid unit, and were huge cos of their brilliance live

  • Also Queen's albums were extremely spotty and Sweet's records at this time contained almost no filler. Take the best material from "Sheer Heart Attack", "Night At The Opera" and "Day At The Races" and you have enough tracks for one really great album. "Desolation Blvd.", "Give Us A Wink" and "Off The Record" each stand on their own as great records. I could care less who came out with this "sound" first because Sweet were vastly superior.

  • Sweet was robbed man.

  • what the hell happened to music these day

    this kicks

  • Has Mick gone too then?

  • yeah micks gone, valentines day 2004 sadly missed im from scotland n visit his grave every year.

  • @derekkiltie andy still alive?

  • yeah mate andys still alive n giggin

  • i saw them just after mick died here in holland, live music & a beer = fun

  • R.I.P. Brian and Mick!

  • Their vocals are so awesome for this genre.

  • best glam rock ever !!!

  • Is it only me but I have always thought this is so much like Queen harmonies....and they preceded Queen!!

    A bi of plagiarism perhaps?

  • @cassidy322 Really, ???

  • @cassidy322 WTF???

  • I love this song. When I listen to it on my own it always makes me feel like I'm dreaming, for some reason.

  • listen to some of their b sides like cockroach ,sweet fa and burn on the flame AWSOME

  • I love the WHO-like intro 3 chords

  • One of the best of The Sweet.

    Das Lügen Deiner Augen.

  • help! I can't get it out of my head! so catchy!!! sticky!!! sweet!!!!

  • Jak ja kiedyś kochałam tą piosenkę thanx!!!

  • I love Brian, he was one good looking guy!!!

  • Yes, ivory631, he was indeed one good looking guy. A total sweetheart. Wish I could go back to pre 1973, when he was single...I'd do my utmost to become Mrs B.C. One can always dream....

  • I wish I'd actually been ALIVE then :( It sucks to've been a kid when he died...

  • @Angusismyhero Saw them live in concert 1975 in Denmark i was 12 years old then

  • I'm too young by far. Wasn't even alive for any of their brief reunions... therefore I'm incredibly jealous of lucky people like you!

  • Let me enlighten you young friend. 1975... Desolation Blvd. comes out (in the midst of a sea of shit... Boston, Rod Stewart. and worse). This album was an animal.

It was soooo disappointing that they didn't go further, cause they had it in them.

  • :C Shit happens and it SUCKS. I'm used to a lot of my bands carrying on despite trouble, death, etc. but this is one of the first that just isn't the same and it gets me down way more than it should...

  • @RockyG1978 Desolation Blvd came ´74, young friend:)

  • @ivory631 There is noone better looking than Brian!

  • @ivory631 Do you think Brian knew how delicious he was?

  • The best glam rock band ever

  • In the end they played the music they wanted to rather than what was commercial.... one of the most under rated bands of the era.... wish they were still all here...

  • Notice how there's no close-ups on Steve?

In his book, he says, he had an argument with the producer/director of this vid on the day of recording. . . and no close-ups was his punishment.

    Great Song!

  • ...and more...one of the BEST drummers ever!!! and great vocals all round.

  • Damals haben wir alle gedacht: ...hmmm...was für eine merkwürdige Platte...das Ende ist witzig...lässt man die Single laufen, läuft der letzte Akkord unendlich durch, solange, bis man die Nadel abhebt ;)

  • haha my mum loved this band, and since i was 4 i've listened to them. Great stuff, seriously wish they were still around.

  • Wasn't this the B-side of Action?

  • No, it was an A-side but became only a minor hit, unfortunately.

  • thanks for the info. I couldn't remembre it. So it means that i had both singles.

  • THIS is a difficult song to pull off. They should re-release this song and see if it would be able to climb the charts again:). They were all four fantastic musicians.

  • sweet, slade wizzard,t.rex queen-- - like one, try the others.

  • SWEET IS THE BEST GLAM BAND

  • was this after brian's throat injury?

  • Comment removed

  • yh it iz 2 years after x

  • So sad. He sounds different. :(

  • CREO KE ESTOS FUERON LOS PAPAS DE KISS

  • what the fuck are you on about

  • You say Jonas Brothers, I say Led Zeppelin.

You say Hannah Montana, I say Guns 'n Roses.

You say Miley Cyrus, I say Nirvana

You say Soulja Boy, I say Aerosmith

You say Zac Efron, I say SKYNARD

You say rap, I say rock.

    You're a rapper, I'm a rocker.

Studies show 80% of kids have been listening to rap, fake rock, or pop. If you are one of those 20% who still knows what music is copy and paste to 1 video

  • relax dude.

  • The Lies In your eyes was released as a single in 1976 with Cockroach as the B-Side.

    Alfred

  • Never another band like The Sweet.

  • Awsome vocals here.

  • bless andy scott which that amazing voice

  • fantastic song,from youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • Slammed by music critics said Sweet ripped of the Stones Satisfaction riff so what they still made it their own and you never heard the Glimmer Twins moan. Absolute gem saw them live oodles of times and they played mean, The Best

  • motasyomad8, you are an IDIOT.

  • Considering Madonna didn't release her first album until 1983, and SWEET's "Lies in your eyes" was released in 1976, I can't see how it could be a Madonna song, or even a demo recording.

It was written by Connolly, Scott, Tucker and Priest and is from the SWEET Album "Give us a Wink" (1976).

According to Madonna's discography she has never even recorded a song with the same title.

  • no its not

  • What you have to understand, is that you have no knowledge of music and when Madonna wrecked the industry, that was once ruled by rock music. This song was made in the 70s. Get it right.

  • Sweet is all I listen to. Haven't found anyone better that can come close to them.

  • How come such a cool song has so little views?

  • Great!!!

  • It also amazes me how Andy can just belt out those really high notes with such ease! lol.

    Especially at 2:49.

When I heard that one I was like DAMN!

I've heard it before but not live like that lol.

  • This sounds like the studio version.

  • Steve Priest is the one with the "High Notes".

    But, yes...it could break glass.

  • Ahh. I thought it was but I never really did know if it was Andy or Steve. It always confused me lol. They all can sing pretty high but yeah you get my point lol.

  • Actually, it is Andy Scott with the high vocals. Check out the DVD "Glitz, Blitz, and Hitz." They discuss the vocals and other stuff from the early years.

  • Well you learn something new everyday. I always thought all vocal parts were done by Brian with lots of multi tracking and overdubs.

  • You are wrong, that's Andy. With the black hair and with the guitar. ;)

  • Love this song. It makes me think of all the fake people out there. A fake friend someone has and then finally they see the truth and come out and just tell them they're not gonna take their shit anymore. The chorus makes me think that anyways. The rest kind of makes me think as if someone's friend is completely replacing them with someone else and they are taking a stand saying you can't just replace me like that.

God I love this band. They are so amazing.

    Rock on Sweet!♫

  • Brian had the best hair in pop!

  • I will always love this band, for the rest of my life!! SWEET rules!!!

  • The best band i the 80´s They are best

  • Sweet were a 70s band dude ..

  • @Clarisworkz yes but they released tis single in 1986

  • @hamster700 No, they released this song in 1976. They weren't even together in 1986, with Brian having left the band in 1979, and then the official break-up of the other 3 in 1981. They did briefly reunite in 1988, but Brian's vocals were so damaged by then, and he himself was a train wreck, that they abandoned any plans for a new album/reunion. This video is definitely circa 1976-77. The clothes and the way it was taped is the giveaway. Visit the official SWEET site for more info.

  • @Clarisworkz Brian s voice problems was not his drinking but in june 74 he was beaten up by some guys , Brian tried to steal their women and after leaving the pub the guys were following him and one of them kicked him very hard in his throat .From that moment on , Brian s voice worked , but some keys were to high and Steve must take over some songs .BEFORE that battle Brian drinks a lot , after that he lost control

  • @hamster700 it was a re-release they did not record together as the original line up after the 70s

  • Absolute genius...Sweet=nr.1!

But can someone please explain why this version sounds different from the single i bought in '76?

  • Quite true. Perhaps this is an actual life performance.

  • @eflint1 it was a remake done in 198x

  • This band was simply brilliant. Most of today's listeners don't have a clue what they're missing if they haven't heard Sweet.

  • Some great comments! Nice to see a new young brand of Sweet fans coming through - good taste never dies! We may have lost Brian and Mick but (The) Sweet will NEVER die!! At just 10yrs old, their music grabbed my attention and they provided the soundtrack to my youth! Brilliant.

  • YEAH !!! THAT`S HORNY MUSIC !!! SWEET 4ever

I LOVE IT FOR THE REST OF MY LIVE !!!

  • its not The Sweet, its just Sweet. doesn't matter, but just something i noticed. good song though, one of their best.

  • Oh really.. I always had this doubt about the real name of the band although I've always wrote The sweet.. but I saw hundred of times this way.. Now I'm really shame 'cause I've always it writen wrong.. happens..

  • You're not wrong. They were The Sweet in the earlier years and then dropped The and were just Sweet!

  • so ein mega-hit...i love this song

  • fucking mad song. the sweet rock!

  • Those vocals! Truly superhuman. The best.

  • i love this band so much and im only 12 years old!people say im crazy but i dont care cause that aint going to change me!

  • you aren't crazy sweetie, i was 9 when i first heard these guys, now 42, and still love em, rock on \m/

  • haha yeah im 12 too and i love this band!

  • The Sweet is Great!
