I wish air force didnt phase out their BDU's, i wouldve worn PJ boots like those with them! plus i hate wearing low quarters cuz with those boots i wouldnt have to shine the entire boot, unlike low quarters which gotta be reflective shine like that =\
I still have my old Corcorans (1 pair of the Classics, and 1 pair of the II's -- much easier to break in!), but I'm sure happy I no longer have to mess with them all the time!
The TX ANG unit I retired from allowed us to wear roper-style boots with our Class A and B uniforms (I had the Justin kipskins), and they took a very nice shine as well and were nice and warm in the winter. They looked like low quarters until you raised your trouser legs.
NICE JOB MAN!!! I cant do that to my Brown Jump boots as someone I bought them from had put a lighter too close to the Toe Cap.....I have to take them to a shoe repair place and see if they can fix it....BUT it sure as hell does a nice job for shine...just not a mirror shine.
I feel like that's relatively common, the places that bend the least on the boot or shoe are more easily shined into a mirror. The same thing happens on my service dress shoes for the air force
@fdfvdfify I just think it's odd, because it looks uneven, which it is. I polish my entire boot, although not to such a mirror luster, so I have no problems with flaking.
Back at Ft Huachuca, we had to have that kind of shine every day. Some people never could get it right. I bought Corcorans so I could have a nice easy to maintain shine.
All I used was a base layer of Lincoln wax, and I kept up the mirror shine with a tightly woven cotton rag and a small amount of water.
Of course black boots are a thing of the past, except for the rare occasion when wearing a dress uniform. Now we have rough leather desert tan, and the art of boot polishing will soon be dead.
yeah untill the hijacked us government moves on its own constitutionalist, then you will see a lot of patriots wearing black boots, and probly a lot of pigs wearing them also. bUt one things forsure there wont be any boot shineing going on. LIVE FREE OR DIE TRYING!!!! DEATH TO TYRANNY!!!
@fishman017 the rough out boots provide better camouflage than black boots. however, a pair of spit shined boots would look so much better on garrison duty.

I'd be glad to learn your method, but you need to show me that it's actually preferable to this one. Because this method seems to get fabulous results.
I appreciate that you did the whole boot. I spent years in the US Army and saw many a soldier try to get away with a quick wipe on the toe and heal - You put them all to shame.
Can you PM me what method you used to shine these? I just got a pair and want mine to look like that.

Where did you get those? I can't find them anywhere....

Yep, spit shine is for toe and heel only. If you try that on the rest of the boot it will flack and crack.

Nice job, but the toe and heel have more shine than the rest of the boot. A little odd.
LateNightCable 2 years ago
@LateNightCable , I had problems with adding polish to rest of the boot, because layer of polish is cracking and flaking when I wear the boots.
cof44 2 years ago
That's the way it's supposed to be.

@LateNightCable No mate, that isn't weird at all. It flakes if you put it on the rest.

I love classic jump boots because of their flat halfsoles!
If you want to your boots look more aggressive with tread soles, it's not a problem to resole boots...
PS - my girlfriend wears corcs :o)
