The Tiger cannot. The Apache uses its "Longbow" radar to detect enemies whilst the Tiger uses passive thermal visual detection. The Helmet if the Tigers WO can be linked either to the maingun or the painting laser. In essence, the Tiger shoots where the WO looks with his helmet. The ball on top is the eye of the WO.
The tiger is such a beautiful beast. What a shame the german version doesn't use a canon like the french/australian one, it's certainly the most useful weapon an helicopter could be armed with.

Your patronism is to be commended, but it sickens the rest of us. The Comanche is a great airframe but will not be followed up. Too expensive for even America's ailing budget. Egg beaters reach their use by date and get replaced by the lastest, greatest, and economically viable new ones, no matter how many eggs the old one have beaten. Equipment is only as good as it's operator, and as we know, yanks have all the gear but no idea.
Pride is the number one thing here. I am sure this is a very impressive attack rotor-craft. But nothing has been more battle tested then the Apache and Hind not the Tiger. the british version of the AH-64 only features a new engine, folding blades, a new defensive system and some smaller changes; no optics
besides the tiger optics were made by sagem and they know their shit ;)

yeah..the KA 52 is a nice chopper. but coz of its coaxialrotorblade system he is too loud. and this chopper needs a 2nd scout chopper to identify targets. in the 2nd chechnya war it was tested and not that good. the payload of 32 AT16 is amazing but outdated coz of the end of the cold war.
I don't know so much about it, and by the way,..what do you think about MI-28 Havoc ?, The havoc has no double coaxial rotor and the tripulation are two men,(Ka-52 only one man, the same man is the pilot and the guner simultaneously)
hi enricucho :) ! the Mi-28 Havoc is a great chopper !!! he won the contest against the KA52. the russians will buy 50 Mi-28 now. the KA 52 is only for the specialforces. the Mi-28N will replace the old Mi-24Hind. the US forces call this chopper the APACHSKI coz it looks very similar to the AH64 Apache. nice chopper.

Incorrect, the sensors attached on the top is not RADAR, the Tiger uses very advanced IR and Optical sensors, but no RADAR. What makes him harder to locate. Our government is thinking about adding an 30mm gun, but it will be a gun made in Germany.

Hmm, I would not compare the Tiger and the Apache. Too many differrences. The Apache is nowadays more like a specialised tank-hunter, with it´s AT capabilities far outreaching it´s other roles, while the Tiger is an all-round attack-helo.

It's 2/3rds as heavy as the older Apache and still has same abilities so would be a lot more agile and quicker so why did UK build 69 Apache Longbows under licence? yeah..the KA 52 is a nice chopper. but coz of its coaxialrotorblade system he is too loud. and this chopper needs a 2nd scout chopper to identify targets. in the 2nd chechnya war it was tested and not that good. the payload of 32 AT16 is amazing but outdated coz of the end of the cold war.

I don't know so much about it, and by the way,..what do you think about MI-28 Havoc ?, The havoc has no double coaxial rotor and the tripulation are two men,(Ka-52 only one man, the same man is the pilot and the guner simultaneously)

hi enricucho :) ! the Mi-28 Havoc is a great chopper !!! he won the contest against the KA52. the russians will buy 50 Mi-28 now. the KA 52 is only for the specialforces. the Mi-28N will replace the old Mi-24Hind. the US forces call this chopper the APACHSKI coz it looks very similar to the AH64 Apache. nice chopper.

Nur zur Info der 2+4 Vertrag zwischen den damals 2 deutschen Staaten (BRD + DDR)und den 4 Allierten des 2WK ist so gut wie ein Friedensvertrag. Er sichert dem wiedervereinigten Deutschland seine volle Souveränität zu.
Außerdem verzichteten die Sieger des 2WK auf alle Rechte die sie bis dahin in Deutschland hatten.

Hehe, n1... saw the us-apaches on an nato-exercise in germany, they had 10. After the first mission they had 7, `cause they hit trees and telegraphic-lines. Nice job... after that i saw them in former yugoslawia where they put another 2 into the tress, gj.

I was there,too. They have also shown the Bell UH, the Bo 105 ,Ch 53, the EC 135 and other helicopters.

Consumption, costs and time for running are also important facts. So the higher unit costs and less running costs are an advantage of the Tiger after some years in service.

The German UHT version is flexibly equippable it can be equipped with 12,7 mm gunpods if necessary.

The German version is an Support helicopter, dont have the same areas of application like the Apache or HAD.
Its more a good armed scout as a Anti-Tank.
By the way, i never said its the better version..
I only said it could be equipped with gunpods.
German goverments allready thinks about to equip the UHT (KHS) with an RMK 30 mm. But the canon still is in test phase.

In this clip you see the German UHT Version at the beginning and in the second half of the clip the French HAD version. Very nice, I like the radar attached to the top. I hope the Germans decides also to add an 30mm gun to the front.

Incorrect, the sensors attached on the top is not RADAR, the Tiger uses very advanced IR and Optical sensors, but no RADAR. What makes him harder to locate. Our government is thinking about adding an 30mm gun, but it will be a gun made in Germany.

Hmm, I would not compare the Tiger and the Apache. Too many differrences. The Apache is nowadays more like a specialised tank-hunter, with it´s AT capabilities far outreaching it´s other roles, while the Tiger is an all-round attack-helo.

ok i agree. but since we dont expect the big tank rushes anymore...the apache`s biggest advantage ( max payload of AT missiles ) is not so important anymore. the apache is a chopper build for the cold war to beat the soviet hind choppers and tanks. nowadays its a asymetric warfare. and there you need multirole more than max payload.

Aye. The 2 helos were simply built with differrent doctrines in mind. A better comparison would be to put the Tiger against the Cobra, but that´s really a mismatch. :)

lol yep ! same size and payload but definetly not the same generation of choppers. speed, engines, avionics, weapons, emp awarness, and all that stuff makes the tiger to the best of the world today. the comanche could have been a good chopper too but the project got cancelled. too expensive even for the USA

AThundeR76, the Comanche program got cancelled as USA decided to spend the money upgrading older aircraft - what a bunch of cunts! Get rid of the old and get new to stay up there with the best is what I think. As you say, it would seem that TIGER is now the best. It's 2/3rds as heavy as the older Apache and still has same abilities so would be a lot more agile and quicker so why did UK build 69 Apache Longbows under licence? Because USA told them to, fucking puppets!
