Gibboj94- No one 'naturally' likes anything. All preferences are a choice influenced by surroundings. Nothing artful is 'rebellious' in nature either. People just use that word as a substitute because its fiery. Choose on your own accord regardless of perception and normality.
@Havelneft False: people are born with natural inclinations to certain things...preferences are most certainly influenced by surroundings, but are not completely dependent on them. If that were true then parents could essentially raise children to be exactly how they want them to be. And please - ask ANY parent if their child is everything they expected or wanted them to be. The answer will never be "yes".
I'm 17. Naturally, I like rock, rap, metal, punk, Alternative. But these days the most rebellious thing a teenager can do is listen to Classical. I have to admit, if it wasn't for a video game, (Eternal Sonata,) I wouldn't be listening to this. And my god, what a beautiful song!
@Anddrew914 Cool. You think it's alright for people to like music because they think it makes them "rebellious"? That's worse than liking something because it's "popular". What an asshole.
@MacWillyFortunes Yes. I do think it's alright. I also think it's alright to like music because it's popular. And there is nothing intelligent you can say to support your claim otherwise. "What an asshole" yes, way to make this personal. I think objectively you are probably the person who looks like the asshole here.
I'm learning op. 55 no 1 now, and I'm considering this one next, but the polyrhythms in the first section have me a little put off. Does anyone have any pointers?
It's maybe too late but I have learned this piece (at least the first part) after only 5-6 months of piano and the polyrythms were quite simple to learned, easier than what I thought.
The trick is to play it slowly and to focus on a few "markers" where the 2 hands play at the same time
My teacher assigned me this piece, which came to a surprise to me since I play for a year now. But it got me very excited to do learn *walks to the piano.. ^^
I wish I could "like" this 100 times. Simply beautiful. I have been listening to it all morning, I can't bring myself to navigate away.

@gibboj94 You are ruining classical music if you like it because you think it's "rebellious"...

@MacWillyFortunes You telling someone their reason for listening to classical music isn't good enough is ruining classical music.

@Anddrew914 Agreed. Assholes are often right, however. I hate posers. This kid is the king of them.
