  • I love this early JOHN DENVER.... John died in the Pacific coast not far from my home. Always wanted to meet him, talk to him.... maybe in Gods Heaven.

  • Love this song that satirizes the American funeral industry and traditions. Some folks on the right had a fit at the time, but they have no sense of humor.

  • I dont care if tom paxton wrote this, no one sings it like John!!!

  • Do you have the rest of this clip? It's a gas......with Carson and John discussing the song.

  • If I can find it I will post it.

  • The clip is posted now.

  • I love John Denver, but Tom Paxton's version is much better. (As it should be of course, since he wrote it.)

  • This is a funny little song. What is with this crowd? Are they deaf, or just waiting to be told to laugh, like a bunch of zombies?

  • Hi Michael. You say you have some clips of John hosting the Tonight Show. I remember one show from the I think 1977 where John played "To The Wild Country". I was wondering if you had that clip. It was a show where John was a guest of John Carson's and he wasn't the actual host. That was the first time I heard "To The Wild Country" and was instantly in love with the song. Thanks!

    ~George~

  • Sorry George, I don't think I have a clip with JD singing To the Wild Country. If I do find it I will certainly post it. Miost of my clips are from the early 1970s. I always liked To the Wild Country. I have posted a clip from Alaska: American Child where that song is sung. Have you seen it?

  • I do have a few clips of John hosting the Tonight Show but I believe they are from 1977. He talks about his new movie Oh God! I will be posting them in the next few days.

I have some clips from the early 1970s but none of them are hosted by John. Sorry!

  • do u have the clip of when he hosted the show in the early 70's

  • Sorry! None from the early 1970s.
