so the samurai proved themselvs against everyone they beat the mongolians the koreans and the chinese could not handle them so the the japanese arts like jujutsu and aikido is alot better and thats fact.
first of all all the chinese martial arts came from india specially the art of kalari it looks exactly the same, it was brought there by bohidharma and the chinese got there ass kicked by everyone the mongolions invaded china with only 40,000 soldiers and they killed all the chinese warriors and raped all the women and even burned down there cities and when the mongoloians tried invading japan with 140,000 men against only 40,000 samurai the samurai kicked there asses.
@ravisdb You are missing the great fact of the attempted Mongol invasion of Japan: the kami kaze - the divine wind or big storm that destroyed countless Mongol ships. It had nothing to do with the Samurai...and sorry friend, Bodhidharma noticed the practices of Taiji and incorporated it into the great Shao-lin tradition. You just tell Bruce Lee that the Japanese are the best at martial arts, or tell his teacher Ip Man, he demolished a Japanese officer in hand-to-hand.
@ravisdb what a stupid historical noob asshole, kongfu just a wrong illusion that western think. Kongfu's official name is Wushu. Wushu is literally translated as the martial art. Learn history firstly asshole before you give off your shits. and Mongols was defeated by China since 15 century. and they have to live in the desert for ever.
Do Mo brought martial arts / Buddhism to China. And about Theravada Buddhist Monks that fight....YES, MUAY BORANG as original Muay Thai was taught by many monks in ancient Siam. The school project asks u to be arrogant in comparing Kung FU & Aiki? Both are winning systems in there own way.
Err...comparing an Akido demonstration with kung fu movie movement....seem inconsistency in the way of comparing as we all knows...movies' fighting scenes were always pre-planned n may not be practical, although it seems real...
Excuse me!! in real live fighting, two angry men have no time for coordinating or breath and spirit or even for art or way!!! this is just spiritual!! ...fighting needs musculs and violence!
this is the first time ever I hear the Ai in Aikido explained as match, usually its harmony, love, gentle mind and such, but what do I know, I'm not japanese, I just practice Aikido
The reason Japanese arts arent accreditated is because Japanese arts are all a rip off of Chinese. Karate cames from china, ninjutsu was orignally created by a chinese, jiu jutsu came from Qin Na, judo is basically chinese wreslting. Half of aikidos beliefs are Chinese anyway. I love Ninjutsu, Aikido and Kung Fu. But i didnt see any comparison here, just you saying how you think Aikido is better.
@maccatheguitarist, every martial art comes from some other area of the world. Most japanese MA's can trace their lineage to China, but they are in no way a rip-off. Jiu Jitsu is a more complete MA than Qin Na and Shuai Jiao (chinese wrestling). Qin Na isn't even taught alone, it's taught as part of the curriculum of other Wushu styles. Also, judo, aikido branched off of JJ. So saying that judo comes from Shuai Jiao is incorrect.
That's true, and yes I know all this, I studied the history of martial arts year before I began training in any. Of course it's not like the Chinese are the only people who could come up with such styles, we are all humans. I love Japanese styles like Ninjutsu and aikido but I hate it how Japan takes credit for things they didn't always create, this isn't just in terms of Martial Arts. Kano created Judo from JJ yes but many books I have read state that MA were taken from Shaolin to Japan.
@maccatheguitarist erm, judo is part of jiujutsu. yeah and jap art came from china, but its not ripped, japanese used to be from china, but moved to japan and mixed with natives
According to history, O-Sensei practised for years in China and when he came back he developed Aikido. Having done Aikido for 4 years and still doing Taiji for 13 years, I see a lot of Taiji in Aikido. But mind you, both arts are fantastic.
@maccatheguitarist I think it's good to remember that China is Japan's ancient Greece, to make an analogy to the west. The Japanese have borrowed much in martial arts, religion, and craftsmanship they have also added to it. Aikido has a finesse like Zen buddhism or the Japanese garden may have over their Chinese inspiration, but no more depth. It is impossible to compare, and to do so may be a western construct anyway. Typically over-analytical as we westerners tend to be.
Hey you forgot the many aspects of kung-fu,for example the two thowsand years of history, the fact that pakua shang have many techniques similar to aikido, the spiritual dimension based in taoism and budism, like aikido does,
is not fair your "comparative perspective"
finally Im an aikido practitioner for 10 years now, but still think kung-fu is superior, sad as it is no comparation to tai-chi man, you need more information.
They all derive from the influence of Tai chi. Prove me wrong and I will retract, but come on, how many Theravada or Vajrayana fighting monks have you seen? Did the Buddha preach any thing like that? It is all Chinese, indigenous, brilliant. Of course I believe Buddhism makes everything better, so I agree that kung fu is superior. This is my student's project, mostly accurate.
The ninja are the real winners don't you think? No politically, but in fact of physical ability?
@opensourcebuddhism ninjutsu originated from China. The original fighting style is apparently more brutal in my opinion. It's called snow tiger if I'm not mistaken... but this style is like barely heard of and probably almost gone.
@plovakia Ninjutsu its a part of the curriculum of many japanese schools, and not an martial art itself. is an art of espionage. many techniques of ninjutsu for sure came from china, but that don't say that one is better than the other!! Most of ninjutsu techniques were created in Japan to suit better their needs, terrain types architecture ...
Anyway this video is ridiculous!! Comparing martial arts means " someone is living in a fantasy world"!
@TheYoshiForce I was reffering to ninjutsu as how it is commonly referred to which is as a self defense style. They call it 'Snow Tiger' and it does sound childish and ridiculous indeed but it doesn't in it's actual language. And yes I understand that no style is better than the other. Perhaps if I've posted something ridiculous before, it was when I was less wise and younger. I have learned much since I've posted that comment.
back off aikido haters! i like this vid, its very interesting and cool. just learn a bit more about those 2 martial arts ok?
peace.
