Great bike. General question, I'm looking to buy a motorcycle but I'm about 6'4 220, I want a street style bike but something that's comfortable to ride on, is this aprilla a bigger version of the ducati 646? I was also considering the BMW r1200 enduro style bike as well. Thanks for any help.
i would trade my imaginary girlfriend for that bike! Cause im a nerd! Who needs women when you have a wonderful italian bike? Im Ultra-Ugly and women hate me! But i love motorcycles! Thats keepin me alive!
@hyweltthomas If it was a 98+ Superhawk, I would tell my girl to put her best dress on, then we can do a straight up trade. I'll even throw in some pans and laundry soap with the girl.
Took this bike out last week from my dealers for a test i was dissapointed. it did not feel like a 750 i was expecting a crazy ride but it felt very tame.
I asked the salesman about this when i took the bike back , he said it has 3 different modes and it was set on road mode . i prefer my DRZ
Ive got a test ride booked on one next week . I have a Suzuki DRZ 400 right now that i love but seen this Dorsoduro in my local bike dealers it looks awesome.
also have Honda X4 1300 dont know if wife will let me have any more bikes ha ha
As cool as the duc hypermoto is, I'd MUCH rather have the aprilia. Yes, ducati is cool and the name is something everyone wants, but aprilia just makes a more reliable bike these days and the ducati service intervals aren't exactly attractive. This or the Shiver 750 (almost exact same drivetrain) will be my next bike, w/o a doubt. The only thing I don't like about this bike is the short range, oh well.
For a 5'10" person will this bike be all right the seat height is pretty high compared to my rsv if any dorso owners could let me know that's my only concern about this bike.
Those are all top notch bikes. But for a 200 mile day? I'd want something with a fairing on it ;-)
So it's @ 30 hp down on power. A PC or Ninja computer and pistons should liven things up abit. And for 200 mile days, it'd get the best range out of all the ones you listed...
Plus, save you a buck or two.
Cheers, just my opinion.
Kawi lists the Versys at 454lbs. Until KTM Duc & Aprillia SPECIFY DRY OR WET weight, I wouldn't necessarily call it heavy either...
I'm riding a 300lb, 26hp, 250 rightnow that I love. I can't imagine a 400lb, 92hp, 750 twin, WITH DUAL MODE EFI!!!!!!
OMG, I'm in love...
I'd pay the $10k MSRP for it. AWESOME!! I just found the seat height!! 34.25". YES!!!!
That's just 2" taller than mine!! And it looks like a toy under me in traffic. I love it when people think it's a slow 250 and I walk the dog on'em when the light changes :-) I like to be able to stand up with it under me to.
Am in the middle of buying one im trading my KTM 690 for it

True friend, real funbike, genuine Aprilia and very good!
kirsa77724 2 years ago
I love my dorso.. couple of factors are ther fuel range and the power..
it's not as aggressive as you are led to believe, especially at the top end (but i have been spoiled by litre bikes!)
overall a great ride!!

Any dorso rider can say what kind of exp they are having?

Let's see... The KTM 950SM, Du-cat Hypermotard, or the Aprilia...?
Which one would be the best all 'rounder with kick ass backroad 200 mile days?

Neither. The Kawasaki Versys.
Those are all top notch bikes. But for a 200 mile day? I'd want something with a fairing on it ;-)
