  • Got me pop lockn in here son:)

  • PIMP!

  • A "True" Classic! Nuff said!

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!! There is nothing better out here today.

  • Now this is old school~!! Man this takes me back!!

  • Appreciate how much history there is here. 'Rock Steady' at the top of their game, The 'World's Famous Supreme Team' on the scratch...and for you B-Boy die hards, the most footage out there of 'Normski' not counting the movie 'Flashdance'.

  • Produced in 82´, this tune came to Brasil in the biggining of 83´ and was a smash hit. For sure, the first one associated to Break Dancin´. Be known to everyone that all Electro and Hip Hop classics caused the same impact here as in the U.S. Malcolm has made the right choice getting the right beat by programing himself an Yamaha´s RX-11(" It´s Like That" , "The Message", etc) . Beyond english, Malcolm was one of us. These gals will never be replaced...MM...a genius...

  • I enjoy to be a 80 boy.. Good old school..

  • Two trailer park girls go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside...chick chick waaa, chicka chicka, chick chick waaa.

  • timeless piece of work....this was the beginning of break dancing/popping.

  • The break-thru of old skool hip-hop!!...Reminds me the days of body-poppin' n' break-dancin on ur kitchen floor!! :o)) 'Double-dutch' was a classic but this track will ALWAYS be remembered for classic hip-hop!

RIP McLaren - ur genius still lives on, 30 yrs on!!! xx

  • RIP MM! Your scratch will always make me itch. You will be sadly missed!

  • R I P Malcolm

  • you know it..

  • Rest In Peace - Malcolm Mclaren. Crazy white dude who helped invent Punk Rock and also made this funky ass song.

  • This is when Hip-Hop was at it RAWEST form. I can believe this is my first tim watching this video. I know Em sampled this and Herbie Hancock took some of the scratching....

  • I miss the cardboard days... the creativity aspect of hip hop was resprented well in this classic tune.. Feel Proud to have this in the crates and on wax

  • RIP man.

Malcolm introduced me to both Hip-Hop and Classical music. God's honest truth. My life was never the same. Fell out of my memory until I heard he passed at which point I knew, instinctively, that I had to in this public forum, pay my respects to this man for improving the quality of my life here on earth. Much Love!

  • R I P this was a master pease

  • RIP Malcolm, never forgotten, thanks for the memories!!!!

  • rip youre the greatest malcolm

  • RIP Malcolm

  • Why do all the good people go first? We love you Malcom

  • To Malcolm McLaren.........some people like you some people didnt but whether you certainly left your mark on the world of music.......my condolences to your family and friends.........God is going to have his hands full with you R.I.P

  • Rip Malcolm

  • RIP Malcolm McLaren. NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS!

  • rest in pax, great Malcolm.

  • RIP Malcolm McClaren

  • R.I.P An Englishman. God bless what you gave. Thank you.

  • RIP Malcolm McClaren

  • RIP MM. Legend.

  • RIP Malcolm

  • RIP Malcolm McLaren

  • Nelly Furtado sampled a bit from this song for her song "Powerless (Say what you want)"

  • Stratford Roller Park STAND UP!!

  • REAL HIP HOP, Classic!!!

  • This song just took me back to my youth, just tried to bust a backspin... I think I pulled something.

  • lol funny

  • @elover37 I wont try!!LOL

  • i was there, not in the video but i was part of this! u know what i mean, this was so crazy when rap was forming itself and combined with popping/breaking it was complete. from their it just took off. i was there.

  • yeah represent

  • Simply a classic - it was way ahead of its time.....Far better than any of the music nowadays.

  • hahaha

  • It's got all the perfect DJ stuff, nice electro beat, scratchworthy moments, and a super ironic white guy talk singing

  • The first recored rap song to have scratching in it. It sounded so new and out of place then, or in other words, so wrong it was right. That's what REAL Hip Hop is about.

  • Malcolm Mclaren is fucking awesome, none of his songs sound the same as the last one, check out Madam Butterfly, Double Dutch, About Her, Deep In Vogue and Waltz Darling, they all are completely different to each other!!

  • This video reflects back to a time when hip hop was creative, innovative and cuuting edge.

  • those 3 are the ones he ripped off to fuck like he did the sex pistols the slimy twat

  • I first saw this tune on tv back in 1980/81 and it has been with me ever since.

Anyone know who the 3 guys are in blue with the white gloves??? @ 2:02 ??

  • best guess would be the rocksteady crew

  • yeah i think is rocksteady as well

  • Haha, Eminem took the intro of this song for his own intro of 'Without Me'.

  • Comment removed

  • This is pretty shit but McLaren's 'World's Famous' is superb, as is Double Dutch.

  • Tune !

Nice piece in the back ground, it's called "The sky's the limit"... i forget who did it, anyone know ?

  • come on guys we this man was very underated

  • Don't really think he was underrated.

This song was a pretty big hit when it came out.

  • Well,m someone doesn't get it, say what you like about Malcolm Mclaren, but he could spot a revolution in the making and was a catalyst for alot of culture bending....you have to see the big picture. Peace to the RSC, DONT FORGET BABY LOVE Y'ALL....X

  • wow this has got to be the stupidest fucking piece of shit ever made, that guy should be fucking shot, as should everyone who even remotely likes it

  • Respect to the Rock Steady Crew. R.I.P Buck 4 and Kuriaki and Frosty Freeze

  • Em sampled it, proving he is truly knowing his hop! Recognize...new Em droppin in May, real hip hop forverer

  • you just a hater, and you prolly don't like whites, ok wat about House of Pain, 3rd Bass/Serch, Beastie Boys, Ill Bill, Necro, Apathy, La Coka Nostra, they aint real hip hop either right?

  • and dont forget Atmosphere!! unless you dont know them...

  • Love 3rd Bass, Beastie Boys, Apathy and the House of Pain. So you don't know shit little boy. I have been listening to Hip Hop since 1979 when you weren't even a gleam in your Daddy's eye after a 6 pack, so STFU.

  • Is this song about Buffalo like Buffalo ny?

  • got to love the stereo separation channel sound on this golden classic!!

  • RSC...much respect!

  • Rock steady crew! I remember when they played this Video back in the days on Hot Tracks With Carlos De Jesus! Great memories! Thanks for the post.

  • This wasn't at all what I expected...but...it's fucking classic. What the hell? haha Nice.

  • ROCKIN!!

  • What ever happened to Normski?

  • Uauuuuuuuuu!!!! que saudade dos meus quatorze anos!!!!!!!!! dancei muuuuuuuuuito isto!!!!

  • R.I.P KURIAKI

    ROCK STEADY CREW

  • wow, so this is where eminem got the introduction to without me

  • classic!!!

  • THE LEGENDARY CRAZY LEGS

  • Man,not only do I remember this, I still got the hat. No bullshit.

  • This Is One Of The Best Old School Rap Videos There is!Great Video

  • The Roots... :-)

  • It's great to see a Hip-Hop video like this, whit the scence of the real movement.

The new "gangsta rap" that is in TV right now like 50 Cent or Snoop it's fine, but, some other MC's around the world make great lyrics, not about money, cars and sex, about revolution, against system politics.

It's not the same world that existed in 80's, but it's the same movement, same way to change the world.

Hope you can understand my english, im a noob MC from México.

  • Malcolm McLaren (born Malcolm Robert Andrew Edwards on 22 January 1946 in London) is an English entrepreneur and musician who is best known as being the manager of the punk rock band Sex Pistols and by TRUE Hip Hop Heads as a CULTURE VULTURE!

  • Who know about waitin for this 2 come on NY hot tracks STFU!!!!!

  • MALCOLM IS MALCOLM

  • I like pie

  • This is back when rap was cool. Now all rap seems to be is guys and gals telling us that they have it great whilst we suck.

I like rap music that I either find funny, is regarded as a classic, or uses little to no samples.

As far as artists go, I only like Beastie Boys and RATM.

  • and yet "Buffalo Gals" has loads of samples

  • It goes in the "regarded as a classic" category.

  • fresh tips

  • from me or you?

  • so what about the roots? what beasties have used PLENTY of samples in their time, they just happento play instruments too. what about great hip hop like afrika bambatta, soulsonic force, old ice cube, nwa, public enemy, Big Pun, Wu Tang circa 93-95, Eric B and Rakim...these are all revolutionary times

  • Freakin perfection! This song is what the music is all about: making you want to get off your ass and dance. Awesome job Malcolm.

  • Although he is a prick, lousy manager and all that... I LOVE this song!

  • Video scares me :C

  • Excellent! This brought back memories of guys spinning on their heads and not breaking their necks. Love the 1980's scratch and dance. Reminds me of standing in the NYC sidewalks, watching guys doing this and Washington Square Park. Thank you! The scratch is making me itch!!

  • I saw this video way back before MTV. My first videos I ever saw were Gary Numan Cars, The Cramps Garbage Man and this one.

  • This is too ancient and too funny ---

but a beat that could still do wonders - sped up a bit that is - LOL!!!

  • 素晴らしい!!!

    そして懐かしい

  • Here are some of the peeps in the video:

Buck 4, Kuriaki, Crazy Legs, Normski, Mr. Freeze, Willie, Fables, Mr. Wiggles, Dondi, Just Alah the Superstar, Take One, Frosty Freeze, Malcolm Mclaren, C-Divine, Rosemarie, Kim,

  • This was really the first video that combined all the Hip Hop elements, Graffiti, B-Boying, Popping, Rapping.

    Classic..

  • Malcolm Mclaren is a genius!

  • I agree with you 100%

  • The Christopher Columbus of Hip hop.

  • This shit was the bomb, we ain't care what color he was, BUT yeah mostly all the early labels were also white owned. But then you'd have to ask was Herbie Hancock dabblin or experimentin knowin he'd get paid too...shit remember Rod "Tight Leather Pants" Stewart and the Stones was tryinta make discoey rock music. Them punk labels always stealin from the poor people man. I'm disappointed the cats from the 60s ain't warn us Hip Hoppers about rule 4080, especially about publishing rights...

  • 1983 8th grade Westwood Middle School..... Damn I miss those dances....POP LOCKIN AND fist fights...Shout out to the Freestyle Express poppers...

  • Yes this video is one of the first to introduce me to hip hop! I remember December of 82 Hip Hop Blew UP! in Canada.

I think it's incredible that The World's Famous Supreme Team had their sound engineered by Trevor Horn... and Anne Dudley from Art of Noise did all the piano/melody on their tracks.

Hmmmn... as far as Malcom McLaren... the jury is still out as far as how I feel about him. But if it weren't for him... Vivenne Westwood wouldn't of been introduced for the look of the Buffalo Gal!

  • fuckin goooood shit!!!

  • This was the perfect breaking dancing song I LOVE IT!

  • ...and this actually releases stress, its fun ruinin ur life.....

heres more info about old school...

THEY WERE, AND PUERTO RICAN ARE LATINOS...SO THEREFORE UR THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO SHUT THE FUCK UP, AND READ THE HISTORY OF HIP HOP. AND THIRD ITS OK TO HATE AND FEEL ENVY, I ACTUALLY LIKE THAT, PPL LIKE U HATE ME AND FEEL ENVY, IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF. Y FEEL LIKE A LOSER, CUZ A HISPANIC LIKE ME

  • and its ok to hate me, u kno cuz ur lame ass cant do shit!!! i mean come on, what can lame ass trash who tries to act tough, whos is probly a lil nerdy kid behind the screen do? i mean i loooove talkin back to ur ass cuz is fun, and i just laugh at what u write, im shrinkin to ur level cant u see, lol ur funny man, but if u want war ill give u war, dont give a fuck how old u is.

  • This song is kickin, it's Trevor Horn producing the music, and for those who thinks it's lame, by todays standards it it, but you must remember, people 40+ years (like me) have memories connected to it. So while this generation will have "Who let the dogs out", and "Lean like a Cholo" I'm afraid this will stand up as a classic, and the others will be forgotten.

  • As long as we have our mind and such memories, things like dat will never die!

  • move and performer I'm intrested in is actually at 1:55 not 1:58 as mentioned earlier! Ta

  • I'm 40 now too and remembered when this clip came out, was the first I'd seen hiphop on TV as a kid blew me away! Loved the eighties hip hop scene was good fun.

The move at 1:58 is still the best ive seen as far as this move goes even today I've not seen as fast feet! Who is it, buck 4?

  • Great pioneer song! Still kicks ass im forty maybe u young guys were in diapers!! this song fuckin ruled backin the day with the boom boxes all done up thats how it was!! with gazzels and kangols lol!!! you youngsters

  • this is the lamest and stupidest video, and old school rap song that i have ever heard in my entire life!! this is an embarrasement to old school rap! the only good thing about it, is the breakers, and representin the RSC member buck 4 and kuriaki are there, they perform at 1:35

  • why is this lame? because this clips doesnt have people waving guns, money and chicks? :|

  • uh....no, as a matter of fact i want OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP TO COME BACK, OK? i am a fan of old school hip hop. im 19 years old and believe it or not i love old school hip hop. i was just givin my opinion cuz this vid is really uncool "buffalo gals" dont really go wit the clip, and its stupid.

  • u aint sayin nothin now, right big man?

  • It's a fukn top song, & unless you can do better, just STFU.

And yes, RSC always prove why they were up there with the best of 'em, RIP Kuriaki.

  • are u fuckin talkin to me?

  • Well I replied to you didn't I?

Calm the fuck down, this song might not be the best, but it has it's merits & it's certainly better than anything you can make.

  • bitch wtf u be talkin about???!!! for ur info i prefer old school rap above all ok?!!!! and second of all i have lots and lots of old school rap songs on my ipod, as a matter of fact i loooooved the old school style and its clothes not to mention the RSC, thats why i mentioned KURIAKI AND BUCK 4 IN THIS FUCKIN VIDEO DIDNT I? u think because im 19 i dunno old school? and plus i wrote a 10 page essay on the old school hip hop culture and i won!! so whatcha gotta say now?

  • Good on you, you prefer old school stuff, give yourself a pat on the back.

And you wrote an essay that won 1st prize, more power to ya!

However that is not the same thing as producing a song that is good as Buffalo Gals, when you do that, you can talk.

Till then STFU you young whipper snipper.

  • lemme tell u somethin dirty white trash or whoever the hell u is. i actually met alot of ppl on myspace and they will get to kno me better. i TALKED TO KURIAKI'S AND BUCK 4'S FRIEND ORKO, I TALKED TO CRAZY LEGS, BABY,CHINO(LEADER OF THE NYC BREAKERS) AND SOO MUCH MORE, its sad to hear ppl like u are pathetic and sooo damn unhappy, u have memories here, I TALK TO THIS PPL IN ACTUAL LIFE.....RIGHT NOW BUDDY!!!!

  • LoL, aren't you an angry 1, my my, take a chill pill & STFU kiddo.

Who gives a fuck who you talk to MySpace, you seriously need to get out in the real world. You know what, when you grow some pubic hair, gone back & talk to me. Till then go chat to people on MySpace or Bebo you goose. Also, learn to spell you dipshit.

  • hey listen to me u immature dumbfuck who talks like a freakin 5-year-old. it aint my fault that ur freakin jealous because u havent accomplish shit!! alright??!!! AND JUST TO LET U THE FUCK KNOW, I DO HAVE PUBIC HAIR AND I WILL ADMIT IT, IM PROUD CUZ IT SHOWS THAT IM FUCKIN BETTER THAN U! UR THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO GROW SOME PUBIC HAIR, AND U NEED TO GROW UP!! AND ALSO GET SOME BALLS AND BRAINS!!! ALRIGHT AND ITS OK TO BE JEALOUS HOMEBOY! BUT LIKE I SAID IT AINT MY FAULT UR ASS WASNT SMART ENOUGH

  • Respect to the RSC........this is exactly why I loaded up this vid bro!

  • And there goes another person who doesn't know dick about real Hip Hop

(early90slova). If you did, you would not have made a stupid coment about the first recorded rap song EVER to had scratching it in!

  • you guys, guys check out kuriaki and buck 4 in the vid, if u didnt notice they are there at 1:35

  • this guy was what Afrikaa Bambaataa would call a "culture vulture"

  • eminem copies dis song in without me

  • Gotta give it up for a man who could produce the Sex Pistols and make a Funk Classic.

  • Buffalo girls in a buffalo stance.

  • this pretty much kicked off the whole hip hop scene for us in the uk, thanks Malcolm :D

  • Snoop dat dogg Thats buffallo Sh#t Hardrock

  • BEAUTIFUL - the 80s was the best

  • what a shithole nyc was back then. and yet out of this shithole, a beautiful music emerged.
