When the fall did come, Christianity helped keep Europe somewhat unified and preserved literacy & culture. So yeah Christians hate doing research cause everything they find is showing them the BS they don't wanna see. You know how it is, research is of the Devil :)

@Feanor1169 Well now, greek philosophers brought science and wisdom to the world, then Christians brought the Dark Ages. Shutting down oracles with centuries of traditions, starting wars, "spreading the faith" by the sword and the cannon.
Look what Christians did to natives anywhere they found them. Name one native population that was spared the attempts of brainwashing, and having their culture destroyed, by filthy missionaries.
So yeah, atheist countries, low crime rate. Coincidence ? :)

@firuinthehouse The "dark ages" would have come to Europe, Christianity or not. The Western Roman Empire was doomed for various reasons before Christianity was even widespread or legal. When the fall did come, Christianity helped keep Europe somewhat unified and preserved literacy & culture. In addition, the Greek Christian Eastern Roman Empire never really had a "dark age" and was one the most prosperous & cultured areas of the world at the time.

@Feanor1169 Well of course there are nuances everywhere, the world is rarely black and white. The church kept and improved some writings, science, study of various topics. On the other hand it also burned witches, persecuted people that studied the skies or generally thought too much for themselves, in ways that were "too creative".
I myself am into Remote Viewing, and have great respect for the Oracle of Apollo, in Delphi, a place with 800 years of the finest recorded oracular performance.

@Feanor1169 Then after all that knowledge (about how to do accurate predictions, happens to be very important to me and others) it was shutdown by Theodosius, a fucking christian emperor. 800 years of priceless experience and proven results, lost to some lame christian worshipping, in boring churches.
Same guy destroyed the Great Library of Alexandria, and was generally promoting the worst kind of christian ignorance and obtuse thinking we have come to despise today.

@firuinthehouse The Great Library of Alexandria was destroyed long before Christians took over the Empire, likely (accidentally) by the pagan emperors Ceasar and/or Aurelian. It is unlikely that losing occult knowledge about remote viewing or oracles did anything to cause the world to enter into a "dark age". If anything, it kept people from being influenced and controlled by demonic entities. I would advise you to stay away from that stuff.

@Feanor1169 OK I see some experts still argue about who burned the Library, could be Caesar, could be Theodosius, or Archbishop Theophilus of Alexandria. That's Caesar and 2 christians so yeh, bad odds :)
With losing the knowledge of RV and oracles also the knowledge of protection from such things got lost, as people specialized in these things would learn quite a few things in 800+ years.
It didn't cause the Dark Ages, I just said for me personally it is a great needless loss of knowledge.

The library contained knowledge of mathematics, geography, medicine, astronomy and all kinds of other things that were lost for eons due to your co-religionists idiotic fervour and violence.
And demonic entities don't exist. you are delusional if you think so. Dangerously so, given you are defending the destruction of the great Library.

@johnycannuk Its not that clear-cut. There are four occasions proposed for the destruction of the library at Alexandria: by Caesar in 48 BC, by Aurelian in 275 AD, by Theodosius in 391 AD, and by the Muslims in 644 AD. Of those, the destruction most likely occurred when Aurelian retook the city from the rebel Egyptians in 275. Even pagan authors, years before Theodosius, wrote about the library as having long been destroyed.

Yes, America is in some ways the land of milk and honey. This is largely because they have a secular constitution (the only truly secular constitution in the world).
Communism is a belief IN a totalitarian political system. It is only atheistic in as much as it is compelled to reject all other competing totalitarian systems... like religions, in order to win power.
Stalin was not a stamp collector as well. Does that mean that not collecting stamps will always lead to a communist dictatorship?
