I don't understand how they know it erupts approximately every 700,000 years. Earth has been around for approximately 5 Billion years, so that means this thing has erupted 7000 times? I don't buy that. It just doesn't make sense to me how this logic fits within the geologic time scales.

Fortunately for you, they show the ash cloud heading east and south across the US. Plus, California has a lot of experience with earthquakes, so it would be most able to take one that might be caused by a super eruption.

We came from common ancestors, being the reason we're so similar. I don't understand how they know it erupts approximately every 700,000 years. Earth has been around for approximately 5 Billion years, so that means this thing has erupted 7000 times? I don't buy that. It just doesn't make sense to me how this logic fits within the geologic time scales.
