I try to "make -j3 TARGETOS=macosx PTR6=1" on dual core mac but it says it cannot find the command or the file. id EVERYTHING according to your video. pelase help

If anyone knows how to do get mame to work (either on ipod - Imame4all, or Mame4iphone, or just on the computer) please let us know how to get it to work step by step (or just show us setting up the roms to work and putting it where it needs to be [rather than just explaining "ok this goes there, you have to do x before you can do y, etc]

Like a visual explanation rather than just audio (ie. explaining without actually showing what they are explaining)

what I don't get is, what makes mame emulators so "messy" (it feels like its not a finished program but something that takes alot of work to get started compared to other emulators that just work perfectly and where you don't need to put roms in specific places, don't need to zip them up, etc [They just work], Mame however does not work and there are 0 videos out there that actually help explain what to do to get them to work, for ipod touch (ssh) and for the computer.

What bios are you using, and to what versions? I+ve been trying for days to get Neogeo work, but no luck at all. Only game i manage to run is Samurai Showdown II.. Tried MacMame, Mame os x, and Sdlmame.

damn do I have to change the rom name or something? I put the metal slug 3 rom in to the roms folder and it doesn't show up on the list for frontend. help please

And when I see the name of the files i do have them all.

Since Mame OS X is not working for me I decided to try SDLMAME OS X. Downloaded but no idea what to do. So if I compile SDLMAME OS X with xcode sdl frontend, I will be able to run SDLMAME?

@tubegiapanta Compiling is basically building a program from its source. It isn't necessary as you can find ready to use binaries online. I just put this guide up in case someone wanted to know how to compile the program themselves. Look for sdlmame osx with google, the first result should have the binaries you are looking for. You probably want to use a stable release. Depending how comfortable you are with terminal you may want a front end. You can follow the video for that part.

@tubegiapanta It could be that your rom dump is not compatible with the version of mame you are using. Usually you want your rom set to match the mame version.

What does it mean to "compile"? sorry i'm a mame newbie.

i've been wanting to play Oufoxies on Mac and got mame os x

and got to Roms and put them into Roms folder as others have instructed

I did go through Audit, but when I try to play the game it still shows me that I'm missing files.
