  • Luv it! Great tutorial!

  • Amazing !!! Continue to make tutoriels you explain very well ! You have got a fan ;)

  • Oh wow, thank you so much!!!! I'm a junior, and can't afford the DVD so this is really such a blessing. Thank you so, so much for uploading this!

  • Fantastic tutorial! I was trying to teach it all at once, and this sort of made me go "duh, need to break it down". However, I do have a problem with my Border Collie/Heeler mix when I use a toy. She gets so focused on "fetching" and gets so excited (read: frantic) about the toy that she's really not paying attention to (or doesn't care about) what she's doing while she's fetching. Do you think this method would work using a click/treat method, rather than a toy?

  • @NiciCool Absolutely, you could use food rewards rather than a toy. I find that toys work best with Nana, since they really help her with building up speed. But every dog is different; toys may work best with some, while treats work best for others. Use whatever works best for you and your dog. :)

  • I'm training 2x2,it's such a great method. I have one question. Right now, the poles are at about 1:11 and my sheltie Nellie is having a really tough time with entries and keeps popping out. Should we retrain or just go back a step?

  • @23Nellie1 I would recommend going back a step and trying that with Nellie. If she stills seems confused, then I would go back to step one and work through the steps again to refresh her memory. It is important to go back a step if ever you notice that she is getting confused (or quit the session if she is stressed) so that she doesn't form any habits that would be diffucult to train her out of. :)

  • Amazing video! I'll try it out!

  • We just started learning weaves the basic way, guiding him through pole by pole and rewarding with treats or a toy, but the problem is he kept looking to me for treats and that slowed him down. So we're doing this method because it chances his focus and speeds him up. He was very confused at first trying to relearn but we'll both get it with time! Thanks for a great video.

  • Great video explaining 2x2 weaves method. I have looked at a couple videos but have to say your video is the best I've seen for explaining the process. The overhead diagram views make it crystal clear. Good job.

  • thank you so much for this clip, has explained how to do it really well :) Will start training this arvo for it.

  • fantastic process of shaping a weave. . . you and Nana are fabuloso!!

  • A good video, easy to train my cocker to do left or right hand weaving,

  • Great tutorial. I've been wondering how to teach this to my dog! This is so well explained and Nana once again is amazing!!!!! :oP

  • AWESOME TUTORIAL! I love it! 2x2 method is just amazing. It works so fast and is so easy to teach! Keep up the great work!

  • @pamelamarxsen Thank you!

  • Do you have any suggestions for what to do if your dog isn't a fan of toys as currency? Thanks! :)

  • @EmchuNP If your dog is food-motivated, toss his favourite treats as a reward, and give him lots of praise. There are also ways to get your dog interested in toys, such as filling a sock with treats and having your dog play with that.

  • @NanaBorderCollie Wow, I think I just figured that out! Ahah :P My sister got me a puppet shaped like a dog as a joke today, and Cody just (2 minutes ago) went WILD for it. He usually will only be interested in a toy for about a day or two, and the ones that really capture his interest are the ones with the squeeky, and even then only until he rips it open and finds the squeeker :P This puppet though, whoa! Thanks for the advice!

  • this is my favorite vid on youtube.

  • I luv your dog.

how to you make your weave poles and jumps?

  • @Jamaf2 I made the weave poles and jumps out of dead branches that I found in our woods.

  • Just in time for me! I'm just starting with agility:) Thanks!

  • your friend invite came at the perfect time!! i attended an agility class the other night to see if I was interested in joining and really didn't like how she trains the weave poles-with barriers and you hold the dog by the collar and take it thru. I wasn't sure how to start off but knew I wanted to shape it somehow. This video is perfect! Thanks!

  • Brilliant!

  • This looks a fun and easy way to do it! Thank you. I love to see a dog go through the weave polls. Nana is sooooo good at everything she does. Thank you!

  • Excellent this is a really well made vid of this process. i trained Inca in exactly the same way:)) you have an awesome garden:))

  • This is a great tutorial! Thanks for posting! =)

  • Clever & creative! Positive training at it's best.

  • that's awesome your an amazing dog trainer

great video i love it =D

  • Fantastic! You are very talented! and knows how to teach dogs and humans!

  • Thank you so much for making this! This makes much better sense now and I am definitely going to use this method and start right away with training.

  • Great video, very clear and helpful. Thanks so much! I love that you don't have expensive poles, but how do you get the poles standing so well? You must have much better ground than we do!
