Easyjet, be efficient about this. Make it clear exactly how much each airplane should be taxed, and make it clear how much tax income that would provide compared to the per passenger tax. Not in some obscure pdf somewhere, but put it right there on your website. Each plane, how much CO2 comes out of it, how much that plane should be taxed. Also make it clear in a table, each airline, how much CO2 average their fleet puts out, how much % they fill their airplanes, how much tax they then pay.
Yes, tax planes not people, but, even Easyjet, you need to improve your system so you don't just sell all the tickets but also fill every airplane with people on every seat. It's ok to sell the same seat twice as long as you make sure everyone who wants to take the flight can take it. Just make it so people can "announce they are not taking the flight" letting you an opportunity to sell their seat to someone else, and if you do, the original buyer gets credit/rebate on their next booking.
Good work easyJet! Just please don't let yourself go on "too cheap" movements only because of money and forget global people's health. Watch this and thank you: /watch?v=jIU_wqpiiCw
I agree with "Tax Planes Not People" , but I don't think discouraging long haul flights is a good idea. You are part of the same industry as the long haul operators. You'll regret shooting them in the foot (and yourselves if you begin to operate longhaul!) by spreading that message. Stick to TPNP and get the taxation reduced on the industry as a whole!

It does not mean 'less' people coming into the UK, it means 'fewer' people coming into the UK!
