  • The guy dropping the mortars is my big brother!!!! 172nd striker brigade!

  • @mw2rocks008

    cool

  • I so needed to see this....love you Spc Keith Cornett, 1/25 SBCT, 2-8FA, Ft. Wainwright Alaska! HOOOOAHHHHHH!!!!

  • military vehicles are awesome

  • wats Styrker? was it a division in the US Army?

  • love how the mortar starts off the chorus 0:52

  • great video man, im wondering if alot of that footage is from Ft.wainwright or Ft. greely? both of which are in my backyard.

  • I oversee the the assembly of the "Classified Armor Package" for these babies before they're shipped to Canada for Vehicle Assembly. We manufacture all the variants...MCV and the ICV are our biggest hitters. Right now were doing a lot of Retro fits for the damaged ones.

  • well you could become a 91bravo. its a wheeled vehicle mechanic and after ait u could get the chance to even work on them. im a 91b and i had the opportunity to work on these and i must say alot less complicating than other wheeled vehicles.

    PFC Kaszas

  • You can not pick your unit. I am being assigned to this unit and will report in a few days. I am an 11B (infantry).

  • Brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for the uploads Yaeger.

    CPT Brogan

  • 172nd SBCT, C Co. 2-1 INF!!!!!

  • Snow chains are a bitch.

  • Yaeger... This is still the best styker vid I've ever seen!!! Thank you for putting it together!!!!

  • "These boys might be picking up the pieces of their friends but in a few days they will be back to normal" Paraphrasing a statement made by a C.O. after a Stryker was destroyed in Afghanistan while everyone at home was feasting upon turkey and watching football.

    Dear: Pentagone

Give our soldiers "Improved Walker Bulldogs", Air transport for the HI Tech Bulldogs, real Tac-Air with prop driven COIN aircraft that circle all battlefields 24/7. "Is there an 'off-road of death?" Why road?trac?

  • lol its funny how many stupid comments are on this vid but watch any vid with strykers and all you get are these fags that make fun of it. my question is why? so the stryker has some flawes hasnt almost every. look at the m2 bradly it sucked but now look its still working and doing a pretty good job.

  • Exactly...I guess it comes down to if they've never been around it and seen its capabilities, then they are full of critisisms. I love hearing it from non military, non deployed people...thats the best. I think they should waste their time on F-22 videos...none of those have been to combat yet, and they've wasted more money on those by far!

  • which MOS do you join to get into a stryker brigade? im going to join the army but i cant really find anywhere on there site which MOS it is.

  • 11B is probably your best bet of getting on a stryker, but medics, forward observors, combat engineers, and Cavalry scouts are also in a stryker brigade. If you got a duty assignment in Alaska as one of those MOSs, you are almost guaranteed to be on one.

  • the drivers/crewman for the stryker as well are in 11b? or is that a variant of 19k?

  • there all 11b but rarely the driver could be a tanker but the mgs stryker the one with the big gun on it the crew and driver are all tankers

  • the MGS is the one i want to work with, i realised since ill be coming in with a bachelors degree ill be 2LT but i definitely want to do something with strykers

  • nice man, I am in the canadian military in Regular Officer Training going in as 2LT as well in armored, good trade there man.

  • Depends. In Vilseck Germany, home of the 2nd Stryker Cav it goes like this. You have 3 Infantry Sqdns, with Infantry platoons, then the medics, mortarmen drive their own trucks. I believe the MGS platoons are assigned to these sqdns, crewed entirely by tankers (I believe, please if Im wrong correct me)

Im a Cav Scout, we have our own sqdn, all Scout platoons are crewed by all Scouts, with a sprinkle of 11b's here and there but each Troop has a Mortar platoon, staffed entirely by 11c's.

  • infantry mostly or some other mos that work with the infantry like medics and some cavalry scouts use them.

  • @sirstikay69 There are a few variants of a Stryker ICV (Infantry), RCV (Scouts), MCV (Mortar), MEV (Medic), and the new MSG (not sure most likely Tankers). Even with those MOSs there is no telling if you would end up in a SBCT

  • @oskysniper this comment shows you wouldn't understand that there were parameters that the army set forth for the vehicle to meet and that it hasn't met

  • Who are you calling a retard?

Those vids were shot in '05 before we got slat armor but I've seen one before, and that is just insane. I seen a vehicle where the front wheels broke off from doing that.

  • trust me man the army guys beat the hell out of the strykers and the atgm and the icv are always beat to hell but the mev is always in the best shap for coming back form iraq...so shut the fuck up you retard....its like u never been in a stryker!!!!!!! and next time see if u cant get a vid of one of them jumping with full slat armour on!!!!!!

  • who were you talking to?

  • are you talking to me

  • no.

  • Nice stuff man. I'm in my 1st year of College but I'm gonna go and try the AROTC next semester see how I like it. Though I can tell yah, the Stryker has already got my hooked on the thought of going for 19a.

  • hey that looks like the new mexico desert

  • 1 last thing is you drive the ambulance and you are treating it lick that, sure its fun to beat on strykers but the amb . You risk the safety and wellbeing of your fellow soldiers .Wow so ignorant and inconsiderate ,imagine your vehicle was req to for medivac and there you are broken down cause you wanted to have fun..........Fucking clown . Look at me i can hit a small jump with a ambulance and risk other soldiers lives so i can destroy a weak vehicle..... what a ignoranus

  • First of Ignoranus....that jumping was during training where we were getting familiarized with the vehicle. No patients were involved and it was on a driver's course numb nuts. There were 4 stryker amb available at the time, not to mention the M998's we had.

  • god i hate stupid people. not you yaeger

  • Comment removed

  • Like the CTIS whats the point so slow and malfunctions 50% of the time ,brakes freeze up in the winter (air brakes at that)A shitty electrical system that has cought fire numerous times ,AFES discharging randomly or leak down, nitogen suspension leaking cause vehicle to dip down or dip up and to the sides ,It has shitty mobility in mudy ground,in the winter ,in the sand ,transmission wont let you rock it fwd to rev to get unstuck. And much more yes its better than a humvee but not by much

  • Our CTIS worked normally, and I live in Alaska where if you drained the air pressure from the brakes like the PM told you to, then they worked just fine. Never had an AFES issue. Yah I seen the suspension problem, but usually the toggle switch would fix it. Yah they are a little heavy for muddy areas but you should know the capabilities of your vehicle before you bitch about getting stuck in the mud.

  • Well lets just put my facts in ... Strykers,LAV3s same thing and good against IEDs hahahahahahhah.Ive lost 2 friends soldiers who died in lav3s.

8 years in 2 Tours to Afghanistan ,1 in a coyote recce vehicle,1 in Lav 3 and all I can say about them is they are a horrible vehicle for IEDs And rpgs. Not to mention all the maintenance problems with it

  • The RPG cage did such a good job, that the 16 months I was there I never heard a single story of any vehicles being disabled by an RPG. Not one. The cage may work better as a deterent, but it works. Any vehicle has maintenance problems, but LAVs are alot older, especially any USMC equipment is going to be out dated hand me downs. My victor was a few years old and was seldom down for more than a day. Our motto was oil and gas...and thats all she needed after 16 months of operations.

  • Your facts are...incorrect. Strykers and LAVs are similar but not even close to the same. Strykers are pretty good against most IED's. They aren't MRAP's but I've seen some insane hits and only a few people seriously injured. The only type of IED's that hurt a stryker really bad, and I won't get into those, have the same effect on everything else from humvees to abrams.

  • Some of this footage looks like Yakima.

  • Incredible vehicle.

  • haha wow your the one who is actually thinking about that, wanting to cause you cant get some. sorry and he actually has a wife to help unlike you. and try to speak up to date. no one says chow broke back faget.

  • Ouch

  • yeah cause its all me, the little 13 thirteen year old kid. look my dad is in iraq serving and you trying to talk shit to yeager and thinking you know what your talking about is uh kinda bull shit. sorry pervert.

  • you dont even make any sence go mind your own buisness

  • Go look at other videos...obviously you wish you were something you aren't. Go make a video about how big a douche you are.

  • Mind his own business? His family is apart of the video...how is it your business to post rediculous comments on this video when you weren't even assigned to a stryker?

  • i dont need to make a video. theres apperently theres enough medics running around with nothing better to do to make up for me not making one, thanks for the offer though but from the sound of things you will do real good taping your own cooter If you do have trouble however im sure masonjefferies will be more than happy to assist you since hes trying so despartly already...anywho its been amusing to say the least but im bored now...chow

  • So it seems the Pretender RjWhite has tried and failed to look cool as a veteran. Watch as he sulks away to his world of war craft game where he knows one day some level 30 elf will respect him. Only on the internet can he muster the courage to claim he is a war hero. Some time in the near future his mother will rent him Call of Duty 4 so he can finally experience the only combat he'll ever see.

  • oh ok pervert. thats what they all say. haha wow......

  • ok now you r just being a fucking asshole. u call me the pervert your the one that keps making the crude comments not me.its scum like you that gets the military a bad name.

  • You arent even military...any literate person can see you attacked me about my deployment credentials. You desereve every comment you got.

  • RJWHITE is your boyfriend's name then? If you did 6 years in, how come it says you are 21 on your profile? Oh you are one of those creepy 40 year old guys trying to meet youngsters online...oh...this is the wrong genre of videos then. Try POG MP Wannabe in the youtube search.

  • there you go with your perverted insults again. rjwhite is my nephew tho he is not 21 he just turned 15, hes stays with us alot ever since his dad killed himself. so when i go to you tube it automaticly logs me on his profile

  • what a perverted mind, is this how you try to insult people.lol. nope, not the green zone i was in sadr city with the 1-2 SCR as a squad leader during one of the bigest conflicts since this whole thing began.

  • Please when you were there then there were significantly less combat deaths. Are you even still in? Let me guess you are probably a mechanic, or some pseudo-combat MOS. Are one of your combat patches from Green Beans Coffee?

  • im a combat support MP. My squad was one of the most heavly armed squad in our company because we had two ASV, along with all our other platforms.(just in case you dont know what that is. its a duel weapon platform MK 19 and 50 Cal)

  • Combat support MP? That racks me up when you all say that. They have to throw that in. I guess there are combat support cooks and mechanics, and personnel specialists too. So answer my question. Are you still in? I cant find you on AKO. I'm no longer a combat medic, I'm in the MP corps now, but I'm not an 31B MP. Put it this way if you are a real soldier, I'd have the easiest time finding out the truth.

  • yea they calls us combat mp cuase we are acually out there in the field beside the ID and cav not sitting in some garrison in a SUV...how in the world could you find me on ako im you dont know my name at all. and to answer your other question no im not in any more. i did my six years then the stoploss got me right before i was to get out. so when we got back i ets.

  • how do i find you?

  • haha were good. he does, we talk to him over webcam instead of the phone. its alot better.this time he says he sits in a office all day. just add me on myspace and we can talk. search me up by my name. and uh were still at the same house so stop bye or somethin.

  • add me...I couldnt find you

  • this guy actually has been to iraq. he was one of my dads soldiers. they were in western iraq near the syrian border. dont talk what you dont know. k?:)

  • MASON! I've been wondering how you guys have been. I've talked to your dad in emails, and he seems to be having alot better time than last time. I'm still up here in Alaska, so let me know when you and your brothers need your asses kicked again! lol!

  • im with you on this one yeager

  • hey how bout getting some combat patches before you go making videos not hard to tell this was all taken during a traing exercise

  • Wow, another youtube hater...get a LIFE! If your ignorant ass would have read the "more info" section you would have seen I did eventually deploy. Actually I earned 2 combat patches while your lame ass was still riding the bus to high school. August 05- Nov 06

  • LOL dude i have 8 and ive been given my spurs twice I have the CAB and Bronze star to show for my deployment i will take you to school any day I was just simply saying if you havnt been some where dont act like you have...chill

  • Take me to school? I didnt get a BSM, however I got nominated for one, and received a purple heart while you were still wacking off to Army Strong Commercials. I'll call bullshit on your CAB and BSM. Only a POG would brag about 8 combat patches, a CAB, and BSM. It doesnt count if you got your combat patches from 82nd or 101st rolling through the greenzone. How was I acting like I had been somewhere I hadnt...did you even read the more info? Like I said earlier...get a life. Get to class b****

  • are these bette than ASLAVS? i know these things can get a fucking howlwitzer on top but in terms of protection and mobility and shiz.

  • Awesome video about an awesome vehicle with an awesome band in the background.

Use more Evanescence! :p Seriously, they're wonderfully applicable to military stuff.

  • fuckin yaeger!!

  • nice done, but at 0:41 and 3:35 it's a tribute to the german TPz Fuchs (fox) by rheinmetall defences, not to the stryker ;)

  • 8 for the purpose for which this vehicle is suited put some guns on a Cougar HE much cheaper better resistance to mines (good discussion by the way thank you also thank you for the emailed item)

  • 4 (point 1) 5 i think i have said twice that its good with ieds but it is not good with rpgs which is something that is fundamental to the infantry support role which was in its design specification. 6 even if u have to put any part of yourself out of it to reload that is exceptionally dangerous when in an infantry support role 7 im not exactly sure what the significance the height comment is its to tall however

  • 1 does a man who reads many many many items from many different sources about africa know something about africa i think you find he does 2 i dont know what counter strike is

3 the slate armour does not work to the extent it needs to and also makes extra problems for it which im sure u know

  • 8. True we aren't fighting a "trained" standing army, but they are just as effective and deadly. WW2 was a lot more intense than Iraq, but our army is prepared to fight anyone and we can. You wouldn't attack a Korean tank platoon with a stryker platoon anyways. That's not what they are designed for. But an infantry stryker platoon is 10 times more deadly than any other mounted infantry unit in the world, and find evidence to dispute it. 9. Thanks....we will win. Have confidence in our equipment!

  • lol yea hmm rpgs they might have thought of that with the early detination system on it.. hmm i dunno but i trust it with my life, not that i have to, but it is a great assualt vehicle! STRYKE AND DESTROY!

  • oh dear america is really gona waste money and lives with this one. What an overpriced piece of crap. Im sure its great for going around the nice concrete roads of iraq and keeping the boys inside safe from ieds but anywhere else its bloody useless. all it takes is 1 guy with an rpg or a very slight ditch and that thing is screwed. When were gona be fighting proxy wars against china we need better than this crap.

  • are you retarded? I imagine you have no actual combat experience. I used these for 12 months on SAND...moon dust type, and we did just fine. Only a handful of soldiers died from IED's. Its an awesome weapons platform, alot better than humvees, and it is also the best variant for medical evacuation. Dont hate. Strykers always make those without jealous, so I can understand why you are such a bitch!

  • 1:not retarded 2:your right no combat experience but why should that make my opinion unreliable(civilian miltary advisers) 3:sand moon stuff is not hilly ditch ridden mud such as areas in asia where u have a large rainy season

  • 1 maybe not retarded...better you're ignorant. 2 How can you think having no combat experience makes you a reliable maker of opinions on the subject? Can I give you brain surgery? I've seen TV shows about it? 3 The terrain in western and northern Iraq varies from mountains to deep wadi systems, and guess what? Strykers were extremely effective there. Mosul, Rawah, the Syrian border and MOUNT SINJAR! That's correct a mountain

  • 1 certainly not ignorant i read alot about this subject 2 does that mean that civilian milatry advisers have nothing to offer? 3 it is not brain surgery to say a sardine can hit by an rpg will cease to exsist 4 no u didnt lose any to rpgs because the enemy your fighting is the equivalent of a medievel peasent 5 your right reloading under fire happens in combat but not when your perched 12ft high on top of an rpg magnet with no cover whatsoever and i would know about that

  • 1. Yes you are ignorant... you read about it? I lived it homeboy!. 2. Are you a military adviser? Your military experience probably consists of wasted hours at counter strike 3.I never saw one stryker hit or destroyed by an RPG in 16 months...the cages work! Thats what deters them from even shooting it most of the time.

  • 6 i seen many many strykers affected by rpgs 7 what the??? "we arent fighting a trained army but there just as effective" now whos retarded, not true (fact)(in the slightest) 8 yes 10 times more deadly but at 100 times the cost 9 i hope u do win just dont be in a stryker next to a ditch or someone with a minor explosive

  • 4. The enemy we are fighting is intelligent. You've never fought in iraq, so how could you know? Their IED's are built so sophistacted some times its amazing. Their snipers are also on point unfortunately. 5. How would you know of anything about reloading in combat? Its safer to do it on a stryker than anywhere else. Stand up to a stryker and you have up to 3 machine guns and a MK 19 aiming at your ass. Pretty threatening. Its 9 feet by the way. Not 12.

  • 4: "only a handful of soldiers died from ieds" thats exactly what i was saying it is good against ieds but that isnt the weapon that will be used against these in coming wars(it will be rpgs) 5: its a awesome weapons platform as long as u stay still or u dont need to get out to reload under enemy fire 6:thank god it is good for medical evacuation cause your going to need it to evacuate the dead crews from strykers hit by rpgs

  • . 4 When I was in Iraq, a statement a civilian with no experience can't make, we lost a grand total of zero strykers to RPG's. I won't get into anything that gives our fighting edge away, but the enormous silly looking birdcage on the stryker works against RPG's, and actually works as a deterrent for people crazy enough to fire them at us.

  • 7: although this has been designed to replace humvees this will not turn out to be its main purpose 8: americas soldiers experience in iraq is not the experience of soldiers in ww2 where it was fighting trained proffesionals which will be what you are going to be facing in the coming decades 8:not jealous just want u guys to win

  • 5. Again as a civilian how can you assume what vehicle works as an effective weapons platform? You can hit targets on the move with our MGS systems and RWS easily. Again reloading underfire happens in combat, but you wouldn't know about that. 6. Again I've never seen an rpg even remotely affected from an RPG from 16 months of combat from the Syrian border all the way to Baghdad.

  • Great Video.
