  • I was too. Look at what our oldies are. The oldies for these kids will be.... we'll let's just keep it clean. LOL!

  • I can't sit still at my desk. As I said in my other post, I wish I could open a disco. yes in 2010. This is music. These kids don't know beans.

  • Great minds think alike!!!

  • @mareedatl: i'dd be a regular!!

  • This is still the bomb!!!!!!!!!! What a classic

  • This was a great follow on to Donna Summer's Bad Girls. I was a Disco DJ in the late 70's. Slip cue this at the end of Bad girls while she's still going "Toot toot beep beep," and the crowd didn't know when one ended and the other started.

  • yep thats why it was called continiues disco back in the day

  • this sonr reminds me of when i used to feed my hens in the yard...its such a bangin tune to scater your bird feed to...flicking it across the ground to the funky beat and bopping your head....the hens loved it and so do i

  • @ beckyshoegal

    haha that's so good

  • LOVE THIS....THANKS FOR POSTING

bellissii tempi.... e ... bellissima musica...

  • At the clubs here in Chicago, this song blew the doors clean off of the hinges!!! :)

  • if only the dj,s played this stuff now.instead of all the new stuff like lady gaga.come on.

  • This brings back memories of the best days of my life. The music was hot. Dancing was a blast...

  • great vid

    just moved new area vs

  • top drawer !!

  • you have no soul.

    this is fucking awesome!

  • Go back to 1991 and bust a move with MC Hammer. Corny? No, this song was intentionally factitious of the collapsing discotheque scene of 1979. You did not consider the context of what and which drugs were flooding the clubs at the time of this song's production. It seems that you don't comprehend the club culture of Europe & the East Coast as it was in 1979/1980. This song was never meant to be taken seriously.

  • one of the best songs on gta iv.

  • Gracias a todos por sus comentarios!!

Thank you all for your comments!!

  • Y despues de esta....Savage Lover....¡¡¡

Polvo le sacaban a la pista...¡

    Genial....¡

  • I can remember how I used to put everybody in a rush to the dance floor at Studio 2000 back in the 80´s....Glorious...¡ El Cortez

  • GRANDE GTA

  • Thanks a lot for posting this great disco song, maybe one of the best in that time. I like read in this page that young people like this kind of music for their parents and can enjoy it and compare it with the modern music. Thanks Gino Soccio!!! thanks FABRICIOJAVIER!!! both are great!! From Veracruz Mexico.

  • have been a fan of him for years,in my will they have to play dancer. any body out there like the visitors by gino

  • total class melody..... historic in it

    xlloydx

  • This is was a top hit in the gay dance clubs of Frankfurt. Funny time! :-)

  • The last chorus of "Get it up" always seemed seminal to the effort.

  • Great DISCO hit, one of my favourites in the gay clubs in Zurich, almost 30 years ago... let's get back to the 70s... Thanks for sharing!

  • Hot, hot song in the gay clubs in NYC. So was Soccio's Remember. Brings me back to Saturday nights at Ice Palace 57.

  • 5:17 is my fav part. its so trancy yet funky at the same time. i wish i was there to witness.

  • Dude, this is way more than funky! It's tribal :-) I play jazz, and him and George Clinton are the only people I listen to from this era. He was truly ahead of his time (just like Rod Templeton, from Heatwave).

  • i agree totally!!!

  • Disco is still kickin...!... dance dance dance

  • from 29 years ago - but still brilliant

  • There was a perfect vinyl slip cue from Donna Summer's Bad Girls, to Dancer. The people on the floor didn't know a new song was on for a while.

Used to be a club DJ in the late 70's. MEMORIES.

  • @Gromit801 hahaha i used to DJ in the 80s and I can totally hear that mix, yeah this song brings back memories for me as well.

  • Alltime favorite!!!

i have original record from Gino Soccio

  • My top favorite disco producers/musicians of the 70s:

    1. Giorgio Moroder

    2. Cerrone

    3. Gino Soccio

  • damn, you have GOOD taste! To that list I'd add Gregg Diamond, Denis LePage, Dan Hartman, Alec Costandinos, Jacques Morali, Boris Midney

  • @83survivor yes! there was so much talent back there, right? :)

  • @83survivor i will second that, totally agree

  • Didn't Yello rip this off for 'the race'?

    "Try to take it higher"!

  • I played it back in the day as a dj for pandora's in Dudley just outside Birmingham, England, I was often told I was too advanced musically......... I love the line at 3:19 into the track & you could see people singing the hearts out in there own little world, Fantastic days. look at the dance scene in UK now !

I'm 50 and still playing and still using this track & some young dj will say is this new and is it on beatport !!! :) long live disco

  • awesome story man! long live disco

    grande gino

  • I actually heard the techno(minimal) tracks first and then heard this one on k-109, both are dope and now know where he used the sample from.

  • GRAND THEFT AUTO IV 4 LIFE

K-109 The Studio radio station - DISCO

  • Disco see's no boundaries. Its all about Love partying Dancing and having fun.

    Disco Rules

  • The dance floor was packed when this came on, one of the truly great dances songs, and it still is...Timeless!

  • I love this song....been lookin' for it...

Thank you fabriciojavier. Ohhh the dancin' days when i used to get in the club..even though i was underage.....Yeahhhhh

  • you´re welcome man, enjoy it!

  • i WAS FIFTEEN WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT,

I was.nt old enough for studio 54 but I got my groove on

  • First drum machines, first modular sequencers, but this guy never forgot the rock-touch: the guitar riff. The techno bands of those times did not use guitars: ah! and a powerfull bass with common piano. Gino Soccio not only used machines: He was a great musician.

  • What is a modular sequencer?

  • Had so much fun with this song at family parties.....Danciiiiing!!!!

  • this song reminds me of Club Ginos in Hollywood. Love it

  • song takes me back to slinkys fruit stripe gum and the blackout of 77 in ny my favorite part of this song is the instumental on 5:09 ...

  • thats my fav part to. it makes me wanna throw a disco and i wasn't even born then... funny.

  • Dancer

If you want to move on

    Dancer

    Try to take it higher!!!

  • aint no body seein' this track!!!!!! how seductive? the singers where on point, the steady piano, all of it!!!!

  • Probably his best track. This man was a genius when it came to making Disco. Remember the guys wearing "Disco Sucks" shirts in Queens, they were typically long haired Led Zeppelin fans, it's all good, good memories.

  • Sooooo funky...Disco rules...one of my first records, a huuge club hit in Munich end of 7ts, think I listened to it a million times!

  • This is the first time I've heard this track - In my opinion it was ahead of its time

  • ¡Gracias ti!

  • GREAT music from a great time...Sun Devil Disco Lounge/Tempe, Arizona and Tommy's/Phoenix, Arizona 1978-1979!

  • This song is too tough! Brings back old memories of Chicago's own Warehouse Club. This truly is dance music for all of you House Heads!

  • Does this take me back to the late 1970s! Was a teenager when I bought this album and I remember it fondly.

  • what a tune funky baby

  • This song was probably the inspiration for "Frankie Goes To Hollywood" and their song "Relax". The bass line is what would make these two songs complement each other.

  • Glorious sewer filth.

  • Dancer! When I play this record people jump into the disco floor to dance it. I also raccomand supernature-cerrone.

  • I have to agree that '78 -'79 were disco's golden years. I love all of Gino's other club hits, but this is THE ONE!

  • Ain't that the truth, my senior year in High School, Class of 79', the year of everything Disco. We had a disco prom, disco party bus to grad nite, I even went to a disco funeraL that year. Crazy! The best range of classic disco in those 2 years! peace out!

  • What up my bru. I was also Class of 79. Those were the times. Shoes, clothes, music, everything, even the doobies. Peace.

  • buenosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • gino soccio.. maestro discomusic!!!

  • who did the vocal on this?

  • On the record sleeve I find these names: Heather Gauthier, Sharon Lee Williams and Laurie Niedzielski. Has anyone ever heard of them? Not to my knowledge.

  • Amsterdam 1980, fantastic! Thanx!

  • Genius!
